Yesterday was the second day of a two day local annual consignment auction. I reported on the first day Friday evening.
Yesterday was all the household, shop, and lawn stuff. It was raining heavily when the auction started. By 11:30 am it was snowing rather heavily with a wet snow. Probably got about an inch before it turned back to rain. By 2pm it stopped raining and snowing, both.
By 11:00 I was soaked and said "Screw this", and started for home. Drove around the block and lucked into a parking spot in a perfect location to see everything, so I sat in my pickup with the heater on and watched the action while I warmed up and dried off.
Between what I bought and what I sold, I think I about broke even for the day. Bought a clean 30 amp battery charger with a 200 amp boost for $10. Bought a nice set of four alloy wheels like my 2000 Chevy pickup has for $22 per, or $88 total. Tires are bald, but I figured for the price the wheels were good property.
Sold a bunch of stuff, with the weather like it was I don't know what some brought, and won't until I get the check, but a well used portable cement mixer needing a run capacitor on the motor brought $55. A wood fired smoker I bought on the same auction five years ago for $12 and never used brought $15. A John Deere 111 mower with the piston and half the connecting rod in box on the seat sold, but I'm not sure what it brought. Etc., Etc.
Like I said, I think I about broke even.
