So here is the gear box that I have. The PTO shaft is pulled out so it will not be shown. Would love to get this thing working again so I can set some corner posts

Here's a long shot - I heard years ago that the companies that built a lot of these just used off-the shelf gears. As in, the pinion and ring gear from a common car or truck rear end. When the input shaft seal on my Daunser Digger needed replaced, the part number was the same as a Ford pickup rear end seal (or so I was told). So if you could get a number off the pinion gear you might be able to use the searching ability of the internet to find what it is, and then find a complete one in a junk yard.

Like I said a long shot, but might give it a try if you have the time on your hands.

Did you look at Martin Sprocket & Gear? Online catalog will have miter gear and bevel gear sets, might find something that can be finish bored to size.

Call [i:23332c8177]Martin Sprocket & Gear[/i:23332c8177] and find somebody that will listen to your gear problem & internet circumstances. This number is a corporate one but they should be willing to get you to the right person that can tell you about getting some gears. Phone 817-258-3000.

Seems like it wouldn"t be too hard to hang an auto rear end from the frame to replace the existing gear box, or use something from a brush hog, stalk chopper, hay conditioner, etc.

Problem with the car rear end is that the axle part of it would have to be cut short or you would need the dif. from a car like a corvette which would cost way to much. Ya if I had one of those real old read ends tha thad the bolt on axle covers I could do it but don't have one of those

Here"s another gearbox source...the box under the feed tank of a grinder-mixer...right angle drive. Box is relatively small.
