New Gas Coming To Stations..AAA Warning on FOX News-WATCH THIS!

Interesting!

WORTH WATCHING THIS ~

HEADS UP, THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!!

New Gas Coming To Stations... Looks like they are starting to really push this stuff now so be careful what you pump. Pumps have to be clearly marked so don't use it.

The cost will be slightly cheaper than the other options so it might look tempting. Most stations don't have it yet but be aware just in case. The EPA has changed the rules on corn used to make gasoline. Important if you have a car made before 2012. Do watch the short video. Don't use NEW GAS COMING TO STATIONS (everybody PLEASE READ and send this along to everyone you know).

Where have you had your eyes its been on the market for yrs and many many use it even in old tractors no problems.

Ooooooo........Oooooooooo the sky is falling!!!!!
Thanks for the "warning" but you are a bit late.....

That report has more hype than fact.

First thing to know is that E15 was NOT approved by the EPA for use in cars older than 2012. This is because manufacturers could not or would not certify it to meet emission standards in pre-2012 engines. Next thing is that there was discussion about changing the fuel nozzle to prevent mis-fueling much in the same fashion as when unleaded was introduced and restrictors were used to prevent putting leaded fuel into vehicles requiring UNleaded fuel. Next, and another incorrect "fact" is that E10 is mandatory. It is NOT. At least not by federal law.
The real fact here is that E10 is a byproduct of the Renewable Fuels Act of 2007. This requires defined percentages of fuels to be from renewable sources. This includes E85, biodiesel, and any other renewable sources of fuel. The irony is that E10 does not even count towards renewable fuel usage. This is a result of overproduction of ethanol for E85. And, since E85 did not become as widely used as the EPA had hoped, refiners were stuck with large quantities of ethanol that had to go some place.
I personally do not like the ethanol in the gas. It is proven fact that it has damaged fuel systems on older cars. Also note that there is plenty of non-ethanol gas sold for marine use because the ethanol damages marine engines. Ethanol is also prohibited in aircraft fuels.

Really? I don't know anyone who uses it in anything at all! I wouldn't use it and in fact would use E10 if it wasn't state law here.

Yikes, what oil company do you own? This is goofy even for the oil states, wow. Better than the funny for the day, oh my the sky is falling!

E85 has been available over a decade, lots of folks alternate tank fills with e85 and e10 to get the sweet spot of e20-e30 where most cars run at best efficiency.

What we need are blender pumps where you can dial up the blend you want, and over time folks will find out e25 is the cost effective right blend for them.

Too funny. Got my chuckle for the morning.

As much as is possible, I avoid gasoline with any ethanol for multiple reasons.

This has become more difficult with time but, eventually, this too will pass.

hoby where have you been? been using it since it came out, even before that, when I was in the fuel business I used to buy alchol and blend it for the people who wanted it. Several people ran straight alchol in their Chevy pickups. This was back in the 1970's before the gov mandated it to be used. Before everyone was required to make their fuel lines, carbs, and fuel tanks compatiable with eth. You are only about 40 years late. nothing like trying to spread old wives talesand create more misunderstanding about fuels, something I see a lot of here.

I found a few lies in there. Ethanol lowers octane? How? Ethanol is 115. unleaded is 87. It will raise octane even if it get contaminated with water. If anything it just lowers the btu's

Destroys and damages emissions How? It burns cleaner.

The huge spike in food costs convinced me that using millions of bushels of food for fuel in cars that will burn gas and diesel better is merely a huge boon to corn farmers, a few businesses, and the screws to everyone else that buys groceries. gm

There is plenty of information out there to back up what I say. I've done quite a bit of research on the subject. There is a lot of good information on this subject.

You are, of course, entitled to your incorrect opinion! LOL

Hoby: You're misleading everyone unintentionally I'm sure. You labeled your post "E85". They're talking about E15. E15 is 15% ethanol which, yes, may damage cars made for E10. E10 is what most stations sell and it will burn fine in any car. E15 has 5% more ethanol and it should not be put in pre-2012 cars. E85 is a whole other story.

This is not mew. Pre 2012 cars cannot run anything greater than E-10 because of fuel system components. The settling is not an issue because it will be remixed by the time you leave your driveway.

I did not realize 15 should not be used in pre-2012 vehicles. I have a mileage log in every vehicle as I have mentioned before. A local station put in new pumps that have a separate hose for E10, E15 and E85 along with a hose with non-ethanol gas. I always have used E10 but since this one station has E15 I started putting E15 exclusively in my 09 Colorado. I think I'm up to ten tanks fulls of 15 or close to it. Anyway, I compared the mileage with 15 to the mileage with 10 a year ago during the same season and about the same temps and the mileage did not change. The mileage is averaging in the 19 range for a two wheel drive Colorado with a five cylinder for driving to town type driving. Haven't had it on trips much so I don't have much of a test but when I have had it on longer drives the mileage is in the 23-23 range. Next test will be with non ethanol for ten or so tanks. The jury is still out. I'll let you know in three months or so.

Havent you heard of the flex fuel its even got a little sign or emblem stating so you must not be able to read just believe in old wives tales instead.

(quoted from post at 07:14:20 03/23/16) OH great another thread on the evils of ethanol. Haven't we been over this enough. gobble

No, we haven't had near enough discussion on this! grrrrrrrrr
