Maybe a trip to the Dairy Expo in WI. this fall

Not getting any younger , and always thought I would like to go to the World Dairy Expo in Madison WI. So I have almost talked the bride into the trip,if she can book the time off work . Our 34 anniversary comes in November, so this could be a little early anniversary get away . Have any of you ever gone to the Expo ? what should we expect? Info. on where to say while in Madison would be helpful too. Trying to tell the Missus that we have to run and do these things while we can as the years slip by and if we are not careful life will pass us by too. Bruce
 
Madison is a wonderful place for any w/ dairy background/interests. The history of dairy is fantastic there. We also go there to do genealogy research at WHS library. As far as where to stay, there are very few places w/ on-site free parking in Madison. We stay at Best Western Plus Inntowner, 2424 Univ. Ave, Madison. Not cheep, very nice & parking included. It is close to UWM dairy buildings. Otherwise, go/stay in Sun Prairie. Lots of choices there. I hope you go, you will love it. Ken B
 
As with any large annual event, make your motel reservations as soon as you decide when you plan to be there. A lot of people that attend annually reserve the next year as they are checking out. If you are going to attend more than one day, I would hate for you to have to stay in Minneapolis and commute to Madison.
 
I live an hour a way, and try to go most years. I'm a poor person t oask where to stay, though... I stay at home!

Definitely plan ahead. Lodging will be a challenge.
