Last year's calves

Worked 28 of last year's calves "through the chute" today--vaccination, worming castration banding. I know, that's pretty "small potaters" for some of you, but was a pretty good day's work for an 80-year old. I don't recall being showered with this much cattle manure before, though we do it every year. I truly needed to do a complete load of laundry and personal shower when I came to the house!

That's it for the day ? Don't have a side job (like paper route at 6 A.M. ?) Getting laid back ?
AMAZING ! ! good on ya ! ;^)

cool hand,

Good for you! 28 calves is a whole bunch of calves. I normally work 6 to 10 at a time and I don't band my bull calves - I sell them intact.

You're a better man than I am.

It doesn't matter how many you are working, cattle days are exhausting. They absolutely wear me slick even if everything goes just right.
