Yesterday afternoon was pretty nasty, weather wise, so I decided to drive down to H Freight to get some stuff. Last week my Craftsman jigsaw puked out cutting 12g. steel for a fabrication project. I looked at what HF had to offer and selected one of their C electric models. and bought the one year warranty. Figured if it piked out I would just return it and get my money back.
Anny ways, this morning when I opened up my e-mail, I had one from HF with extra discount coupons. The jigsaw that I bought yesterday was $11 bucks cheaper nwith coupon. This happened to me a month ago when I bought a parts washer also. The store mgr. was very good about it when I called and they credited the difference on the washer for me. It will cost me more than $11 bucks to drive back again to get the credit on this though. Seams this happens to me all the time. Maybe I will start using their direct ship program they offer and not go to the store anymore. Freight might be a killer though.

Have the same thing happen to me. Several years ago I decided to get their big metal grinder. Had noticed the price was going up on it over the years. Kept watching their sales papers waiting for it to go on sale. Never did. So I go in one day and buy one. Within five days it went on sale for about thirty dollars less.

I hate that place. Every time I go in for something that should be $10 I walk out with $75 worth of stuff. Communists.

I may be mistaken, but I think that if you buy an item at HF and if the price is lower within 30 days, they will give you the difference back. I had it happen once and didn't get back to the store for about two or three weeks, and they still made it good. The manager told me about the 30 day price guarantee.

Some businesses are sending out discounts whenever a customer makes a purchase. The idea is to get you back in their store again. Sometimes it works to make a small purchase to get the discount and them buy a large item at reduced less cost.

Next time you go to HF just take your reciept and the coupon. Don't wait too long but they should credit you.

No, Monica (Adirondack case guy) its just you.

If your order is not oversized or overweight it ships Fedex for $6.99.

I wonder if you put an item in your order basket and wait a couple of days whether they will put it on sale before you order just knowing it is there?

Had a coupon for a 12" sliding mitre saw- I looked at it, it was just too big. 10" would serve my purposes very well, but I didn't have a coupon. Clerk said buy it, its due to go on coupon within 30 days- bring in coupon and we'll credit you the difference. Sure enough, next catalog had it for 30 bucks or so less, took in coupon and got the credit. And bought some more stuff. They're crazy like a fox with their coupon policies.

On a refreshing note I had the opposite happen to me. My 1/4" battery powered drill/driver gave up the ghost but I delayed replacing it for six months or so because I had another one I could swipe from the other shop in time of need. A couple of months ago I was in the local farm store and saw a Dewalt driver with a $99 price tag on it (if I remember right) for the bare tool and it had a price reduced tag. I didn't know what it should sell for regularly but I thought $99 was a good deal so I took it to the register. When it was rung up the real price was $45! I was a happy camper to say the least. Very seldom do I fall into a good deal like that.

Jay, that's the one. I used to have to travel to New Hartford up past Utica.
The Amsterdam store has some really nice people working there.

Think that will depend on who is minding the store, not all would. Some will take a item coupon and a 20% coupon both on one item, others will not.
