Apology to rrlund

The good thing is at my age, I wouldn't remember such a comment by today so you wouldn't have to appologise to me.

;)

Lucky for you,I don't even remember what you're talking about. LOL
Seriously,I didn't see anything that offended me in the least. If you said something that bothered somebody else, that's their hangup.

You have to admit, though. That "hangup" term from the hippie counterculture kinda dates a fella.

It's OK to pick on rrlund. If you live in Michigan it is kinda assumed you has to have a sense of humor.

I'm just mad at myself that I can barely remember the post. Where is it? I can't seem to find anything that resembles a discussion about memory. Did somebody say something to get it deleted?

I found it. Page 2,"What's in a name". It gave me the motivation to buy some post it notes. LOL

You talk about terms that date me Dave. Brings back memories. My son and his best friend were in a wedding party a year or so ago. During the reception,my son and I were standing in the hall. His best friend's dad walked up to us,was standing kind of sideways to me,nodded toward me and said to my son,"He used to be cool",and started walking away. lol That little bugger and I drank a lot of beer together in our younger days.

How many more days-weeks you have in Mich. before you move South?? Be my luck to buy something like that and go broke, because the locals and others to say,(WE AREN"T GOING TO SUPPORT THAT Dxxx NORTHERN YANKEE.)

A guy told me one thing about getting old he now has an excuse for forgetting names and better yet everybody feels sorry for him.
Me I always have a hard time when I was testing milk I could always remember the dogs name but not the wife.
I've learned yes ma'am no sir it helps also that long slow reply it makes people think your coming up with a lot of wisdom but really your just trying to remember his name.
And don't forget the old computer when it was overloaded just simply goes does not compute

I don't know. The boy is trying to buy a house to the north of me. There was a plan for him to build a new small house on my land, closer to town, but he doesn't have time to do any of the work himself, and it was going to cost too much to hire it all done. We were going to take that as a down a down payment on a land contract in a few years and trade houses with him. I don't want the one he's looking at now,so it's all up in the air again.
I never know from one day to another what's going on. I could sell all the cattle and equipment, sell him the home place on a contract, rent out the rest of the ground and head south if push came to shove. Maybe if I moved close enough to Lee Little,he could give me protection. lol

I'm just living day to day though. Trying to be ready for whatever comes.

Yep. I remember my Dad's 50th birthday plain as day. He said he could still remember when his dad turned 50. He said he thought "Man that's old". Now it's a long ways off in my rear view mirror. Dickens of it is,I still don't know what the old timers were talking about when they used to say to me "To be 16 again and know what I know now". They never told me what they knew now that they didn't know then. Guess I'm a slow learner. lol

I would say that remembering the dog's name but not the wife's name could have kept you out of a lot of trouble! Neighbor's wife ran off with the milkman; left her two kids at home with her husband.

An old Amish man that I used to travel around with a lot ,always used to say that the older he gets the better his forgetter works. It finally quit working altogether a few years ago. He died

Good luck with that,I said 2 yrs.ago I was done ,but no one stepped forward so I'am back in the saddle plodding along. My wife likes the Bell Buckle area, but $$$$$$.We been hitting the Crossville,Cookville,Manchester and Nashville areas with or without the Camper since the late 70s.Using the Camper as base makes it a lot nicer and cheaper coming and going.Mostly taking 27 or 127 down.

(quoted from post at 11:09:26 03/14/16) Wasn't it nice when the "60's" meant a prior period in your life!?!?

I know what you mean. I graduated from HS in 1968. Couple of years ago, I was at a funeral home and the name of the lady in the next room rang a bell. I walked over and a guy my age said "didn't you go to .... HS?", I said "Yup". there was a long pause and he said "Didn't we use to be best friends?" I stared at him for a moment and said "Maybe". We both chuckled. I went home, dug up my yearbook and there we were, arms around each other's shoulders at graduation. THEN I remembered: He WAS my best friend!

Been retired a couple of years. Dont take nothing to seriously anymore. Nothing insults me, and I go out of my way to tick off people I dont agree with or dont like. Because it doesn't matter and I dont give a darned.
