Getting last of my dads equipment running

I have been gradually fixing up or getting rid of my dads tools and equipment the last few years. He had a 20" Homelite chain saw that he used for the bigger trees, I am going to get that out, clean up fuel and sharpen the chain this weekend. I have no clue how it will go, but I have a bigger dead ash tree that I want to work up for fire pit wood, so will use it for that.

post a pic of the saw. i have quite a few old homelites. have an old C9 that dad bought new in about 1964. and a 922 he bought new in the 1970's that he used for falling trees.

A C9 that must be a monster! We had a C7 and that thing was a beast. And talk about how newer stuff is not built to last, dad would be up 15-20 ft in a tree. Very common for him to just drop it before he came down. Didn't hurt it a bit. I wouldn't try that with my mostly plastic Dolmar.

This is probably 90s saw, so not that old, my grandfather had an old Sears cast saw from the 50s that was very big, think it was cast aluminum.

Here is picture of the model saw my grandfather had.

I bought my first chainsaw, in 1961, and it was a Homelite Buzz, which was a small red saw, they also sold a larger blue saw called a Homelite Zip, at that cost a little more, and had a longer bar on it. several years later I picked up a David Bradley , gear driven, saw that always started good, but was heavy, awkward to use, and did I say, SLOW CUTTING! That D_B always was ready to go, and ran great, but sat in the shop, without being used, for years.I really don't remember what happened to the little red Homelite, but it's been gone for years. That D_B that David had the picture of, looked just like the one I had, except mine had more dirt, dust, and old oil, on it.

Here is a picture, got saw cleaned up and running today, need intake cover gasket and new chain.

I do not know how to invert, so this is the Australian version

we have an old Von Ruden saw. Hydraulic with 3/4 hoses about 20 feet long. The bar is about 4 inches tall and 30 inches long. It takes a 9/16's chain. Can't get that anymore that we could find. Talk about work. If you swung that for a day you could sleep at night. We used to cut the tree after morning chores load a load of wood and skid the logs out for loading. Go up unload the wood and go get the rest in the afternoon. If the chain caught while sawing it would kill an IHC H. The pump ran off the PTO.

Dad bought two news 330s like that. First day my Brother took one with him on the bulldozer didn't make through the day before it fell off and got run over.
