Loader for a Farmall 504

How can I tell if a loader will work for my Farmall 504? Without trying to memorize all the loader make and models when I go to auctions, is there just a couple of styles of models? Thanks a bunch!

There are just too many to list. A lot of loaders will 'fit' with a bare minimum of 'modifying'.Drill/torch a hole or two, weld a
piece here or there, trim somewhere......Take some measurements of your tractor. write them down.Measure a likely candidate. If
it's close,it will probably work.I just put a John Deere #35 loader on my SuperM farmall. Was it made to fit an M.No. but I made
it 'fit' with a minimum of work. It was cheap($250),so it was worth the work.

As an example to what DeltaRed said if you look on Westendorf's website you'll find that they have
over a dozen loader models that would fit your tractor. However, unless the loader you're looking
at came off of a 504 or closely-related model it's almost guaranteed that you'll need to come up
with different mountings. This could be custom-made pieces (like I did when putting a loader from
a 460 onto my 350) or getting the correct mounts from the loader manufacturer if it is still a
supported model.

Most loaders these days are 'universal'.Only the mounting brackets will be 'specific'.So unless you know that it came from a 504,odds are it will need some mods. You need to find a loader with small frame that is appropriate for a smaller tractor such as your 504.
