Well I did it. I ate a whole box of girl scout cookies in less than 24 hours. Probably not my best record but at least I didn't eat all of them in one setting. Am I the only one that can't wait to see them for sale. Glad them only sell them once a year.

I bought 10 boxes(8 caramel deLites and 2 Thin Mints) 3 weeks ago. I've been out for a week now.

I have 3 cases here in the house, mixed. @ grand daughters are selling them. These will be donated to http://www.teamranstad.org/. Retired US Navy Chief Ranstad started this up while his son (proving that he's more of a man than dad, US Army Sniper) Nick was deployed to Afghanistan. It's still ongoing supporting our deployed troops with care packages. They love goodies like this.

Bruce and I have been friends a very long time. He gave me a lot of garbage when my youngest son enlisted in the Navy. So I give him a hard time about his son being in the Army. Nick is still active duty and I believe he will stay for retirement.

I knew I forgot something yesterday- went into a store, planned to get cookies when I came out, and completely spaced on it. The Scout-in-Charge should have yelled something like "Hey, Jumbo- getcher cookie fix here".

How can I feel guilty about eating them if I don't have any?

I cracked open a box of peanut butter whatevers last night. When I was on my third cookie I looked at the serving size. Uh oh, two cookies. I ate another to even out the servings.

That's got to help my blood sugar numbers. I'll never keep my "borderline" status at this rate.

I love the do-si-dos. I bought 5 boxes a week ago and replenished today with 3 more boxes. My record is 4 cases (not boxes)at one time. Not good even if for a good cause.

I like the look on the young person's face when I ask for one............case of cookies. It makes the wee dear's day.

there is a boycott being organized in my area due to the administrators pro stance on abortions, gay rights and transgendered scouts

That's kinda funny last year they were falsely accused of donating to planned parenthood.

As far as gay right and transgendered people. They have their hands tied. The Boy Scouts lost their cases so the precedence has been established in court. They have to allow gays and transgendered people join.

So whomever is behind this so called boycott is either believing everything they read on the internet or they have an axe to grind. If it's the gay/transgendered thing then they are just idiots and they should be taking their anger out on the courts that made the ruling, not on any organization that has to abide by it.

Look at those people in KS protesting soldiers funerals claiming that God loves dead soldiers because the military, following the law of the land and acting on LEGAL orders of the president, has to allow gays to openly serve. You are going to blame a person who have voluntarily stood up to defend you and your rights because the military was ordered to accept gays? You ain't exactly a mental giant! They should be protesting 24/7/365 in front of the White House, not at some fallen hero's funeral.

Trefoils are 19 carbs in 4 cookies and peanut are 23 in 3 cookies. Not bad for carbs but the unknown quantry is the killer for high BS. It is not as bad as Fannie May.

I always order everything they have. I make the check out to "Girl Scouts of America" when they come in. Then I take the deduction. I don't eat even one. I take them into work. They go pretty fast. "Deductible Cookies". (;>))

I ordered some over six weeks ago. Haven't seen them yet. Guess they don't want me to have any.

The better half did a little shopping yesterday and the entrance to the store had a swarm of girl scouts selling their boxes of calories. (Don't get me wrong. I actually love the cookies!)
There was a very shy girl cowering off to the side who looked to be terrified to be there. My wife went directly to her and ask if she would like to sell some cookies.
My wife judges high school forensics on the side and feels very strongly that sometimes a kid just needs a little something to boost their confidence.

I used to buy a lot at work, generally a couple of cases. I never used to see kids selling them at TSC until the last few years. I can't eat them, too much sugar.

I believe Jon had a funny about this just a few days ago!

I love people that decide its better to side with gays, etc than to support a program that does a lot to help our daughters and sons become successful in life.Boy scouts have have had the same problems. The issue is with the adults in the organizations to deal with - the scouts shouldn't be punished. Its one more example of how bad some people have their priorities screwed up in this country.

I believe in live and let live... but when a transgender with a wienie wants to shower with my little girl, I draw the line... A big line. There is a REASON there is BOY scouts and GIRL scouts. Bigger than being politically correct. Campouts and bathroom sharing can become a problem. Same goes for the other way around... Little boys dont need to see other parts either. Guess I'm out of sync with the new world order. Sorry if I offended anyone.

Back to the cookies... If the little girls look my way and smile, I'm a huge sucker and buy em. Mom has to steer me away from the cookie tables. And dont get me started on the Chocolate candy bar sales... So much for my sugar level...

Well gee how come you were not at the the COOKIE Drop last Wenesday ???? we could have STOCKED ya UP FOR THE NEXT YEAR . This year was vary light as we only had just short of 3000 cases .. Way down from when i started helping the War Dept with this . THe one year i put my finger prints on over 7200 cases of them in one day . You guys are not buying enough of them . Keep in mind here that part of what you pay for a box of cookies goes to the troup that is selling them and the girls use that income for there field trips and camps along with the next years due's and it also helps pay for the girls that come from familys that are running short on money so this way that girl can be part of girls scouts and also do what her friends do . I have been involved with Girl Scouts for darn near 30 years between my two girls and now the War Dept is a full time CME that handles three countys . I do what o can when i can . I have cut and hauled fire wood for there camp outs provided od tractors and wagons for floats ,worked on projects with my girls and god only knows how many short bread cookies i have made vanish . All of my friends dig deep and buy lots of cookies , as i can tell ya this we can load 154 cases kin the War Dept's Durango and make the rounds and by the time we come home there will be no cookies left for me as that will take a reorder. My youngest Daughter also so works for Girl Scouts , she is the head camp director of Western Ohio and runs there two camps .

I've eaten a whole box of my favorites, the Tagalongs, between the store where I bought them, and home. In other words, a box a day is like a walk in the park......

Thing is it isn't just the Girl or Boy Scouts. It's everything. And the courts made the rulings based on the Constitution and the Amendments. There is nothing in there that says anything about gay or transgendered people. It does say that everyone has the same rights and protections. Now I'm not supporting one side or the other here. Just stating facts. The court rulings are not about being politically correct. It's about that Constitution and the Amendments. Would they read different had our founding fathers seen what was coming? At the time most likely. Can they change it? At this point in time I doubt it. I don't have to like it but it's the law of the land so I have to abide by it just like the rest of you. I wouldn't want my grand daughters showering with a boy either even if he was totally uninterested in them. But I wouldn't want my grand sons showering with him either. If I push my representatives to do something I rather expect it would be a waste of time and tax dollars at this point.

The girls selling these cookies just want to money to go to camp. Most are too young to worry about the gay/transgendered thing.

My 9 year old just made her goal today of 1000 boxes sold. My 5 year old has 26 cases left to get to her goal. We will put a full court press on with her to help out. Love the sisterly help coming together to make goals. I am proud of my kids...

I've discovered that Family Dollar sells offbrand Thin Mints and Samoa's (Caramel Delites) for $1.75 a box. Those are the only two flavors my local store has though. Go down the hatch just as quickly and you can have them year round!

Some time ago when signing my daughter up for another year with the Scouts.
There were four Mothers staffing the signup desk. One of them asked why I though the girl Scouts were important and of course I could not resist being a smart*ss.
Told her " Support the Girl Scouts, today's Brownie is tomorrow's Cookie.
Two of the Mom's tried to keep a straight face but burst out in snorts of laughter. The other two mom's went all snarly and glared wishes of an immediate and painful death.
