Tonights feature night is by notjustair,,,he wants to see pictures or here stories about machinery that has been on the farm or property since new,,,,

I don't have any uploadable pictures, but there is a 1953 Ford Jubilee that my grandfather bought new from Smith Tractor in Washington NJ, still here on the farm. It still gets parked in the same spot in the wagonhouse it always has been after it's done working. Also have a 1959 Massey Ferguson 65 bought new from Flemington Farm Equipment in Flemington NJ, still in use on the farm.

All kinds maybe more to long since anything was bought new(a lot that was was before my time).

The '49 C bought new in 50, my dad (8 at time) drove home from town, dealer now hair salon(that's if I remember what he said about it)

And the JD 820 MoCo is close enough to new on farm to count....Neighbor A bought with intent of buying Neighbor B's land. Neighbor B jumped price at last minute, Neighbor A sold us the mower(with I'll guess less then 100 acre on) when our last one gave up.

I tried digging through albums(to find "new pictures" came up empty.

This doesn't fit your categories, but it is a farm/tractor story. Since I didn't get any of the home place,(brother got 100% of everything) not much is still around. My cousin has the WD which our grandfather, and my father bought new in 1950. Cousin(20 years my senior) was a teenager and present at the delivery/payment.

A friend bought Dad's 1966 JD 2510 from my brother, and sold it to me, to rescue it from sitting outside. It had been on the same farm, and always under cover, until brother lost about everything. I fixed up the 2510(poured water out of the air cleaner cup!), used it a couple years, but decided I didn't need so many small tractors, and found a good buyer.

I helped an elderly neighbor/friend obtain Dad's late Gleaner E. Bought new 1967. At least that never sat out. If and/or when it becomes available, I'll have to buy it.

The buddy who got Dad's 2510 for me has the old Mulkey elevator, Century sprayer, Howard "Power Arm" (3 point backhoe), all purchased new.

this is my neighbor in Pa,his greatgrandfather bought it new at O J Fritzinger Ford in New Smithville PA,,,and the Oliver 550 his grandfather bought new,,,both tractors are used on the farm yet,The Ford is diigging potatoes, the Oliver is planting them

Then you should remember Van Zant's who was the International dealer. Saulms was on the 202 traffic circle Mostly Allis Chalmers, and Ponatowski brothers who was CASE. So sad to see the Hunterdon theater come down like ten years ago. Flemington cut glass got bulldozed a couple of months ago.

Do you remember a JD Dealer on the side of rt 12 ? Hall and Lacahameyer? There are big houses there now.JS Covert was a JD dealer in Neshanic nj ..Seaboard tractor sold Fords in Somerville nj

Sad looking little '48 8N. Son-in-laws dad bought it new. Engine was rebuilt once & it runs like a new one. Needs a starter and a radiator right now, need to get it fixed as we still find some work for it to do.

Larry, My dad bought the Oliver 1555 new in 1973 and the White in 1989. I sold the Oliver in 1994 and bought it back about six years ago not running.

My Dad bought a JD 2120 brand new in 1973. I bought it from him in 1983. Still here on the home farm and used regularily. Last year I bought a 1955 MH 44 Special from the original owner--He bought it as new old stock in 1956 and used it 58 years. It was the last piece of farm equipment he had left, and his farming family had no use for it. Tractor looks and runs real good; how could you not get attached to something that worked well for you for so long?

Ben

This is the only tractor we ever bought new ....the first picture is when it was delivered in August of 1968 and the other picture is what it looks like now with over 15,000 hours on it.

In the late 70's, I was sent, from the AC dealer in Auburn NY to pick up a new 4 row corn head at the AC dealer in Flemington NJ. Since I lived south of town, I drove the roll back home the night before. The next day I got the head and made it back home. It was a LONG day. When I got to work the next morning I found the older co-worker who was getting the new combine ready with his nose bent because he didn't get to go after the head! Fun times.

8N my dad bought new in 1950. When he went to korea in 51, my grandfather got it. Grandfather died in 58 and tractor sat unused until 76 when grandmother died. Dad got it back then. He never used it much, just for a garden tractor. I got it when dad died in 91. Dad and I over hauled it in mid 80's. Looks like death warmed over, but runs like a new one.

My grandfather bought a 3020 JD new in 65, still on the farm, my dad owns it and only uses it to move round bales, needs clutches and overhaul, has over 10,000 hours never touched the motor on it. My uncle has his 881 Ford he bought new, not sure the condition of it, think he uses it once in while. Then My dad bought his 4020 JD new the fall of 67, it has over 10,000 hours on the meter, but alot of hours in the shop to get it there. I hope to get the 881 back on this farm some day!

This wagon was bought new by my great-grandfather in 1917, I restored it in 1992. Don't have a photo handy but also have my grand-dads 1951 Super C FARMALL.

Dad bought a CASE 770 in the fall of 69, still have it and grandfather bought a Hit-N-Miss engine in 1918 from Sears . A Sears Economy 1 1/2 horse, still have it and the bill of sale , also the cancelled check.

I hope this picture isn't sideways. It seems like if I post them from my iPhone it messes them up. They look right to me but everyone says they are crooked.

I find these fascinating. I am such a nut about lineage. My farm has many things that have been here since new but they weren't my family - my farm was bought under contract from one of my best friends. We still work side by side after all of these years. Anyway, the 8430 with just over 10,000 hours, the 4020 with 24,000 hours (and a rebuild), many implements, and the 56 Chevy grain truck all came here new. Each time we stack the old blue truck with alfalfa I think of the story of them driving it home in a blizzard with no box on the back yet. That would have been fun. Hog on ice comes to mind.

I've mentioned this one but I attached a pic of the "invoice"/bill of sale for my IH 886 I bought last year. I got it from the original owner with 3100 hours on it. When I went to get it the guy's best friend was there. He just happened to be the owner of the IH dealer at the time the tractor was purchased new. He dug through his file cabinet and came up with the dealership paperwork to write up the bill of sale on. The tractor has never spent a night outside and came with all of the books that he got when it was new. It's been a great tractor for me. We farm with all Deere because of the relationship the original family had with the dealer. I enjoy all of the hours spent in those machines, but this 886 feels like an old friend. It reminds me so much of all of the red machinery we had when I was growing up.

I have the 1945 int H that my grandfather bought new at Mankato KS, It is not running at this time hopfully someday I will get to it. I also have the 1933 chevy that my great grandfather purshased new, It was in the family until 1964 when it was sold. I went looking for the car in 1995, found it. It was not for sale, we were able to purchase it in 1999 from the people that had it restored. It is a very nice car. I am not able to get pictures to load. Bob

I don't have a picture right now, but sitting in the back yard is the F-20 my grandfather bought new in 1936, needless to say, it needs a lot of work.

I have a Farmall B that has been in family from new in 1947. The tractor has live hydraulic loader built in late 50s and a buzz saw put on it about the same time. The tractor has been rebuilt 3 times. and went through 5 or 6 sets of tires and repainted 3 times. It is getting close to needing a few leaks fixed and repaint it.

Sorry no pictures. On the farm next door my brother has the 12-20 Wallis that came new in March 1929. Was part of wedding party last year. In my shop ( in pieces right now) is the MH 33 dad bought new in 1953.

I'm too young for Hall & Lachenmayr. Van Zant's went out when I was little. My dad still has a Case 446 bought new from Poniatowski in 1979. I remember Saums A-C closing in 1985. There used to be a JD dealer in Pittstown, Piell Brothers. Used to go with my grandfather to Rymon's in Washington for Oliver parts, and Covert's in Neshanic for JD parts. What was the dealer that used to be on 22 in Lebanon? Can't remember the name.

Lots here still here. Grandpa bought new A D-4 cat to plow with in about 36 or 37 A set of equipment for it. Being a Jd 12 ft disk, 2 12ft drags JD a 4 bottom Oliver plow Not sure that all the equipment got bought at the same time as the cat.
There is an IHC H. The H was bought new in 53 the last year for the H, and later that year was the beginning of the Super H.
All of this is still here. The H gets used regularly on the farm. We put about 20,000 bu of beans in bins with it. The D-4 needs mag work for it to start on the little engine. I need to get at that so it runs. Dad would like that. He is 83 and still going cutting his own wood.
There is more that was bought since that is still here just to much to list and most of it still used.

Ok so I'm late on this one, but..

I'm sure I've shared all these pictures at some point, some more recent than others.

First is my D-17 series 4. I was told that my great-grandfather bought it new, when he retired from farming my grandpa bought it, and in 2004 I bought it from grandpa. When I was a young boy, it had a Kelley loader on it, but sometime many years ago grandpa sold the loader off of it. I found the Kelley loader and installed it, but it was welded/broke/leaked, and I was going to attempt to fix it.. then I bought the International loader instead. I am more happy now that I bought the tractor than ever, in 2013 I bought my great grandfather's farm, so the tractor has come back home so to speak. It is a little tougher than it looks, but has nearly 7000 hours on the clock. It has never been repainted, and was mostly original beside tires when I bought it, and I know I'll get flamed for it, but it is in the plans to restore it, as grandpa has been doing some hinting that he'd like to see it look like new again.

First picture should be around 2012, second picture is 2015

The next one (even though not the best view of the tractor) is Grandpa's 185. He bought it new, and back then he said it was his BIG tractor. It too has never been painted, and is pretty well original. It too shows right around 7000 hours on the clock, but I'll say nearly 1500 of the hours have been just pulling a tile cart and backfilling tile trenches (grandpa built a special blade for the 3 point that would cover the trenches up back when the tiling machine was a wheel/chain machine, now they have a plow type so no backfilling). Grandpa is talking about a auction in the upcoming future, so I'll have to try to see if I can get it bought before then. As a young kid, I wasn't too fond of the 185, but as I've gotten older and heard grandpa talk about it like he has, I'd really like to keep it in the family

The next one is my 200. It is believed that a neighbor bought it new. When he retired, he sold all of his equipment to my grandpa. In 2014 I was trying to buy Grandpa's 185 to run my baler, but he wouldn't let it go, but he would sell the 200, so I bought that. It shows 1700 hours, and I believe that to be actual. I believe other than the seat and rear tires it is original.

Another tractor that was bought new by my great grandfather went just up the road, 2 farms up. It was a 180 Allis. Grandpa also bought that when great grandpa retired. When it became too small in the early 90's, it went up the road. When I see it today it breaks my heart. It was a very nice looker when it left, but I don't think it has saw the inside of a barn since.. and I'd bet it still has the same air and oil filter it had when it left too.

By the way, yes, you could say grandpa was a Allis guy. In my life they had a D14, D17, 180, 185, 200, 7020, 8070, and a Deutz-Allis 9190. I also remember them having a Allis articulating tractor with the look of the 7000 series, but cannot recall the number of it, but they got rid of that and the 8630 Deere articulating tractor at the same time and got a 8760 Deere.. From that point on, they worked more toward Deere tractors, but I think we lost our local Allis dealer around that time too.

Thanks for letting be long winded in my reminiscing

Brad
