Well, here are a few pictures of the Super M. Drove it home from town. Really pleased with the tractor, awesome power, no oil loss (burnt or otherwise). This is a picture of Casey and myself in a parade with it in town the night before I drove it home. Parade of lights kicking off the local Winter Carnival! Tractor bench seat worked awesome. . . . :)

And then here is a picture of the newest tractor! A 1948 Super A! Tiny little guy, but cute!! Mom loves it, I really like it too. Rear tires are OK, fronts are pretty bad. Runs and drives great, got it from the guy, and he told me "don't know what the issue is, can't make it run". Drove 3 hours one way yesterday to go look at it (too the trailer of course) and, well, I turned the fuel on when I got there, and it fired right up..... Runs awesome.... Has a 2 way plow set up on it too, but none of the plows! :(

The biggest score of this tractor though, came once I got it home. The mans wife gave me an envelope when I was there, she said it had the original manual in it. Didn't think twice about it, just said thanks and brought it home.

Inside, folded up all nice, was this Lubrication Chart, for the Super A tractors.... Can't find another one like it? I am thinking that it must be pretty rare. What a good survivor too at that! looks like it is new!!! Imagine that, no one used it! :p Anyone know anything about these things??

I love it.... LOTS of power. :)

Finished putting my Schwartz front end, and Charlynn power steering on it today! Got a different manifold put on it as well (old one has a bad crack). It is still kind of a fixer upper, but, it is in good shape. GREAT for a working tractor! ;)

i grew up around a m and a superm my grandpa had he bought the superm new in 1954.bought the m around 1966 with a picker on it.hes long been gone but both the tractors are still in the shed there being used by my uncles now.i have always thought the ms were the best looking tractors ever made.but thats just me.

Sounds good, glad you like it, I can't remember we're you from other than out west, but, how's the weather were you are?

We live in Sandpoint Idaho, very close to Canada!

Well, usually we have a lot of snow and really cold weather this time of year, but, last two years we have had considerably warmer temperatures, and as of right now, it is pouring down rain, and the only snow to be seen is the tiny little piles left from the 2 times I plowed! :/

Probably going to be a very hot and dry summer again, not good.

Bryce, I have a twin to your Super M, they are nice carefree old tractors.Even have the Swartz front end. (You can't beat young love) We have only been married 52+ years.

A twin huh?! I could use 2 of them.... :p

Guy heard about this one from someone else, and called me yesterday, wanted to know if I would sell it! I said "Sure!!". He asked what I wanted out of it, and I himmed and haaed. Told him $14,000. He just started laughing, and told me I could keep it at that price, and I laugh too, and said "oh good! I was hoping you weren't rich and crazy!" :p

I'll get a picture tomorrow of the Schwartz on it. Looks a little funny, because the wide front wasn't painted red, so, they don't match, but, thats okay... ;)

Bryse You should find your self a set of cultivators for the Super "A". Where you like growing stuff you would get some good use out of it. Just be CAREFUL on any type of banks with the offset tractor.

Thanks Bryce, as you know I'm in eastern NY:(. We had a mild winter too, up to last weekend, got down to -21 coldest iv seen it here, also not much snow, prolly less than 5 inches this winter!

I would really like SOME kind of equipment for this thing. To be honest, I would L O V E a front blade for it!!

If anyone readying this has some equipment they would sell, shoot me an e-mail! ;)

Bryce

Oh no... Grannys is all flooded out until about the end of May! I can't even think about getting up there, just pure mud. Besides that, all the good runners stay here at the shop or tractor shed!!! :p

Tractor looks good - Send more pictures of girlfriend.
DANG - That's not right is it?

Congrats Bryce

DANG! That was bad! You sound like the rest of my friends! :p

Here's a few more I have of her.

Her, with some weird guy at Christmas??
Her and myself on the Super C (first time ever driving a tractor!)
Her on dads GM at the fair. Please note, I offered her to sit on any of my 5 tractors there, and she chose dads...... :/ Also please note the BIG smile on her face when I told her that!!

Hey Bryce you should have stopped by for the tour when you came stole that tractor out of my back yard. Think that I passed you just south of Colfax when you were heading home with it. Nice super M and A. Have friend that has a complete two way plow set up if you ever need pics to know what might be missing. Mike

Looks like you were lucky enough to scoop up a nice tractor, and more importantly a nice woman to tolerate you AND the tractors! I lucked out myself. Picking up my new '47 M Monday to add to the heard. Going to use it as a "recreate Grandpa's M" project. Gota Farmhand loader ready to put on it. Here is a photo of the M at the yard, and also a couple photos of my marriage proposal and our engagement photo's that we got back recently. Still have yet to tie the knot, but that will come when funds allow. Looks like we are a couple of lucky bucks!

Congrats!!If you wait till "funds allow",the wedding may never happen.Just pick a date and do it to the best you can.It will work out.Susan and I had an 'inexpencive' wedding 30 years ago.A wedding doesnt have to be 'expencive' to be nice and meaningful.BTW.My wife likes tractors, too!

Oh no way!! Really???? I thought you were farther West if Spokane?!?!? :/

That makes me a little grumpy, would have LOVED to swing in and say hi!!! You think you saw me huh? 1995 Green Chevy K1500? ;)

Hey thanks. :)

Did you know this post started out about tractors?!?! Crazy huh?!! Kruser got me off on another tangent...... :p

Yes I live about 20 miles west of Colfax but work out of Colfax. Have about 10 tractor projects in town. Yes that was you I passed, sorry I did not wave I was looking at the tractor not the driver!

Be honest with you, it has kind of opened a can of worms!!!

"sharing" a tractor has turned into, "when do i get to pick the next one you buy?" and "I would like to drive my own". . . . Damn! That means I am going to have to go buy some more!?!? Geeeee many christmas. :p

Red,

That's probably what we will end up doing - gettin' it done on the cheap, flying somewhere tropical to celebrate (since I have never been anywhere tropical), and then use the money we saved for the wedding for a down payment on the next homestead. We (I) are running out of room in our single-stall garage suburbian townhouse (as you can see from the picture!). I've got to keep this M at a friends house about 20 miles away!

I don't know how I was so lucky to have landed such an amazing woman, maybe it is just my charming good looks? LOL!

That means you gave her the bug, now she has old iron fever as well... Better start looking for a property with a really big shed for when you's get hitched.

Thanks! It was definitely creative! Took a lot of planning to get it done right. Everyone that we tell the story to thinks it is awfully cool and unique. She hates being the center of attention, but I figured that was the only was to show her the REAL me! (One more photo just for the heck of it). :)

I agree with DeltaRed. Just pick a date and do it. Ours was about as cheap as possible, did not even send out invations, not enough people for that. I had 37 years, 3 months & 9 days till I lost her.
