Lots of temps in the 80's today in Kansas. Hays set a new record of 91 degrees F. Was windy also, many grass fires, especially in OK.

Got to around 68 or so here at the Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri.
Isn't Hays pretty close to Winfield KS??? I live in Winfield about 55 years ago

Got to 60 here, we've had snow covering the ground since Christmas Eve. The grass is green where the snow is gone.

Thought we did pretty good to get up to 31. That's up from 2 at 5:00 am.
Weather guesser girl is saying 50 this weekend. We'll see.

Not quite that warm here in the Hesston area - we got to the mid-70's - but the south wind was really bending the flagpoles. There have been no fires in our district but I wouldn't have been surprised had the pager gone off today.

Quite a distance between those two towns - Hays is a little west of the center of the state and Winfield is south and east of Wichita.

Here in SE IN it was 26 this morning, 44 this afternoon. Predicted to be in 60's next few days. Boy, am I ready for that!

Wife and I spent a very cold night in Winfield on the way to pick up an LA Case tractor south of Belle Plaine many years ago. Had truck trouble on that trip and bought another truck when we got home.

I lived in Winfield for 5 or so years. That is where I first started going to school. When the teachers saw I was going to be left handed they asked my parents if they wanted to make sure I was right handed and my parents said you WILL leave him alone and he will be what it will be. My parents did not like it one bit that they would even think about trying to make me right handed.
