Alamo parking?

Haven't been there in several years, but there was plenty of on street or parking garage parking then. Big parking garage right behind the Alamo.

Very moving place to visit.

Was there in November and, while I parked at my hotel, there was ample parking nearby on side streets and garages. Agree that the riverwalk is a must see!

I was there between Christmas and through New Years. Stayed at a hotel off of the river walk. The car was parked at the hotel most of the time and we walked to all attractions. But, honestly I think there was always on street parking throughout the entire area. The Alamo is just sort of right there among the River Walk. I didn't think the traffic was very bad at all. Went to the "Tower of America's", rode the boat on the river walk, took a bus tour of major sites around the city which included a couple missions. The river walk and the attractions along the water are the major tourist draw. Also went to a very popular cave a short distance from town. I would recommend the cave. Once again, I don't think parking is a problem.

it was not bad parking there ,,. last time there was in in 1998, been there at least 4 times ,,.circa 1989 ,I have a pix of my 69 marquis convertible with 50 ft of the doors in front of the old mission.. I was dropping the wife and 4 children and quikly realized it would be a great picture,.. the Alamo is a very reverent place ,,everyone speaks in a whisper tone . ,, call me strange , the wife and I both felt shivers down our spine,, and some areas are cold in there..

Can't answer your question as I have never been to Texas. After WWII, my Dad was still in the army and had an office right across the street from the Alamo.
Richard in NW SC

I like to park on the roof parking deck of the "Old Market" then take the trolley into Riverwalk, The Alamo and the other downtown attractions. Plus my wife always has to go to the old market to get vanilla flavoring

You will probably be disappointed as the city as all but swallowed the Alamo.

Be sure to eat the Mediterranean Salad with parmigiana crusted chicken at Paesanos, and its on special on Mondays but available any day. Then the Iron Cactus has the avocado chicken and and another chicken plate that both are very good. Both are on the river walk a couple of short blocks to the west. Texas Land And Cattle for a great chicken fried chicken... one more block west on the RW.. Blanco cafe has a great enchilada plate (tex mex at its best) but its 1 block north on St. Mary's St from the river walk at tlc. Dicks, for a fab burger. Hard Rock Cafe BUT TOO LOUD.

Lunches are reasonable,, Supper is high!

I worked down town for many years.

Also Sea World, Fiesta Texas,Whitney Museum
