haven't been real good around the farm. 1st calf heifer freshened, calf okay, but the cow prolapsed her uterus and the cow side off her stepped on them and tore a hole in the uterus. Last night another one was trying to freshen. twisted uterus. Another vet bill. About noon Jeff calls me and says, "Got an oil leak in the skid steer. Wanna give me a hand? Tipped the cab up, and poked around the "can of worms" hoses and lines for a bit. Got an idea of where the leak MAY be, but didn't want to start taking lines apart unless we were sure. Jeff says, "Time to call Whites and be done with it". Whites guy pokes around and he can't be sure either, since we can't operate the loader with the cab up. Sooooooooo, load her up and take it to their shop. I expect the easiest way to get at the thing to work on it and save a lot of skin will be to pull the motor. Looks like a fairly easy job to pull it. We figg'r the vet bill will be somewhere in the neighborhood of $750-$800. Fun on the farm.
