circular milking parlor

Anyone have experience on a circular, rotating milking parlor? I know of only 2 here in Virginia. They are a wonder to watch and a marvel of efficiency. Wish I had a video.

I don't know about a rotating one but we have a robotic one near me. Been wanting to check it out as it is part of park open to the public but haven't made it yet.

I just talked with my machinist buddy. He has 72 little pieces he has designed, and is perfecting, in anticipation of fixing a carousel. He says he is getting together with the dealer who sold/installed it, and some welders, and they have 4 hours to fix this thing between milkings. His opinion is that the design and manufacture of the thing is junk. I don't know the brand.

The one I'm familiar with the cows got on one side then got off at the other basically ridding a carousel. You needed a lane in then a lane out

There was one about 40 miles from me that we visited when I was a kid and Dad was planning on building a new barn, that would have been around 1972. Don't remember much about it.

Does any one remember the Walker Gordon Laboratory Co. in Plainsboro NJ I worked there back in the 50's They milked 1650 head on a rotolactor I worked on it hanging machines. One of the best years of my life. 2 men hung machines and 4 men rode a stool pulling machines and hanging them up to be washed on the go. The stanchion would then bust open and the cow would go through into a ramp down under the table and back to the barn. We lived in a bunk house with 80 rooms and a cafeteria. Some times the boys would get into a fight and some times someone's bed would get soaked with the fire hose that was in the hall. What a fun year that was. ....Jack.
