Hello,
I have an odd question. In what areas of Arkansas do they do wheat farming are a popular crop? In general what areas are the main farm areas? Thanks
 
The entire length of the eastern third of Arkansas from the Missouri line to the Louisana line is the rice belt but they also grow plenty of corn, beans and cotton, wheat in that area is a double crop with
beans. I'm sure wheat is grown across the state but probably the vast majority is also double cropped with beans or grazed because of the
overall climate.
 
Eastern Arkansas along the Mississippi river is some of the best farmland in the nation and wheat with a second crop of soybeans is very popular. I brought a world traveler from Boston at the Memphis airport, bringing him into Missouri, and he was amazed by the large fields he saw. I think rice is sometimes included in the rotation

Wheat is grown some all along the delta in eastern Arkansas. There is some grown in parts of the hill country but not as much. There's not as much grown as there was a few years ago. Arkansas is pretty diverse in crops. Corn, cotton, soybeans and rice are the most common crops. Wheat, milo and peanuts are fairly common. There are some other specialty crops grown.
 
A large percentage of Arkansas available farming acreage is low flat land. Many of the acres farmed are irrigated either by pivot or by
furrow. Some wheat is grown but because of the land's flat/wet nature it is not all that conducive to growing winter cereal crops since
cereals dont like wet feet....
 
I live in east central Arkansas about 80 miles east of Memphis.
They plant wheat in this area and usually plant soy beans behind the wheat
if the weather isn't too dry.
