Tire spacing

I bought a 4850 2 wd JD tractor that sits a lot taller than the 4230 I had been using. My question is if people ever tip over on side hills when set in at 30" rows without duals? Or, do people ever space them out to 90"? Is that possible? I was going to add (2) 200 gallon saddle tanks too, would that be too much weight with it spread out like that?Any advice or experience is welcome. My steepest slope is an "E" slope if that matters

Without duals 30 is pretty narrow I have done it but I do not like to the wider the better if your just going to be running singles I don't know what an e slope is but I know what a 4wd drive pickup won't climb it slope is and I do not like bieng on them without duals . I would think the operator manual would give some recommendations on maximum weight for tire spacing I have a 4850 book here I'll try to find it later

It sounds like you will be doing row crop work with it? Can you run duals? You're thinking of straddling 3 rows instead of 2? As well as tipping over, I think a concern in a steep situation should be all the weight shifted to one tire- potentially causing it to give out. Then a tip over might be unavoidable.

From the operators manual for a 4850
