16 years old and going strong.

My F350 was built in January of 2000 and it is still going strong at 236,000 miles. It just came back from the body shop to fix a couple of dings and get a spray in bed liner. It never looks as good as when he cleans it up so it's like getting a new truck.

That's a good looking truck and at 236K on a F350 it's just getting broke in. My last F150 was a 300 6 that had 280K on it when my son totaled it. I've always got over 250K or more out of Fords. I was dumb enough to buy a Dodge and in the last 6 months I've spent a third as much in repairs as I paid for it new. It only has 130K. I've got 2 chevys that have 150K and 99K. Both have had a new transmission and the 1 ton is on it's 3rd motor. No more off brands for me, I'm going back to Ford.

My dads f-350 was made in feb of 96. The truck looks new and has about 50000 miles on it. Never seen rain or snow. My 95 f350 is a different story.

My f150 with the 300 six is just a few miles from 300,000. Sad but the body is starting to rust bad. I wish I could buy a new one just like it. Tom

18 years old 250000 miles original motor and drive train I think the older pickups will keep rising in value because of the all emissions garbage on the newer stuff

Nice truck. They must not use salt on the roads there ?

So far I have you all beat. I got a 1981 F350. Been pretty much parked every winter or else it would be a pile of rust here in Ohio.

I agree. You just have top take care of them. I bought it in Houston Tx in 2004 for $16,500 and my son thinks it is worth pretty close to that now. I have probably spent about $7000 in 12 years, much of it was not absolutely necessary. I put in full Banks set up, rebuilt trans when torque converter went out, flush and replaced the antifreeze, replaced hoses before they go out, new brake lines this year, some body work. That's about $50 per month for a truck that does a lot of very heavy hauling with a 32' 25,000# trailer.

Your truck looks great too!

You have a good one there also. Minnesota is the salt capital of the world. They salt the roads when it rains in winter. The trick is to watch the problem spots and keep ahead of it. It's first 4 years were in Texas, that helps. The box was smashed in on one side when I bought it so I got a new take off on eBay for $300. I didn't put the box on until about 4 years ago but the original was rust free. These Fords have a very solid body. The big problem area is inside the doors, behind the rubber weather stripping on the bottom. It is a salt trap. Keep that clean and the doors will last a long time. This body shop visit was because there were two tiny surface rust spots on the inside rear corners of the back doors. A very easy fix if caught right away. A mouse had built a nest inside one rocker so it held moisture and started to rust. He charged $600 to fix a scratch, pull a small dent and replace a section of rocker panel. It is driven in salt all the time, you just have to take care of them. A little extra cleaning can save you a lot of issues.

Thanks! I don't mind if they get old but I want them to look nice. We have a 2000 Jeep grand Cherokee that looks just as good but it has taken some upkeep. My Vett is a 2002 that is like new. I don't spend that much time on them and they never get waxed but I watch the problem spots and keep ahead of it.

In 2007 I purchased a new GMC. Before I took it home, I stopped off and had Z-teck spray in a bed liner, under coat and got a wax job. I like the spray in bed liner. Keeps things from sliding. I would never recommend the drop in bed liners, been there, done that, and thing rusted under liner.

Nice looking truck. My new truck is a 97 and my old truck is a 94. You either take care of what you have or you can make big payments.

Nice looking truck. I have a 97 GMC K1500 that still is good yet for being in snow belt of Indiana. It is an on going job to keep them in shape. But mine doesn't have the miles that yours does.

My 97 F250HD with 106k that I bought new has been a good truck but I tend not to drive it unless I'm towing or hauling otherwise I just use a 99 Explorer with the rear seat down for hauling small things. It's like a Ranger with a camper shell.

It is dirty in the pic but the paint is still good.

I know exactly why you don't drive it unless you need a truck....they ride like a lumber wagon with the leaf springs in front. I have a 97 250 extended cab and only drive to haul or pull. Is yours a gas or diesel? I have a gasser 460 and that is another reason I only drive when needed.

EXACTLY

Here is my 1986. 78,000 miles, still in decent shape. A 360 and np 435 four speed are hard to beat, but a little hard on gas....

Ya that's what's nice about these ol girls with the diesels the resale is high on em and if you take care of they will last forever my truck weighs 8500 lbs empty with no trailer 9000 when put the sides on 250000 miles it pulls 16.5 mpg driving around the farm and some highway miles. right now I'm getting 13 I drive 2 miles from my hotel to my semi at work I start it and drive to get my lunch then drive to work and park . Show me a gas engine that will come close to-that in a truck as big as mine
