Would be another one just for folks looking for lost family tractors. I read a post every once in awhile about people looking for some family members lost tractor. I have a late JD G that i would LOVE to get back. It moved from Northeast KS to the carolinas in the late 90's.

I had a family member get back an ol F-30 years ago, the guy that had it didnt want to get rid of it, so my uncle had to find him a replacement F-30. he did find one, which was nicer than the one he got back haha

Anyway, if i had grea-grandpa's Wilburs ol model X, and someone was looking for it, i would probably do something. Maybe if nothing else, folks dont want it back exactly, but just always wonder, what happened to it. Like a remembrance page. I think it could be a really cool addition.

The trouble is not enough traffic would be
there for it to work, posting on the
regular board someone may happen to
recognize that tractor etc and have info.

I actually found the old tractor that was a significant part of my family's history by dumb luck this year. Became good friends with someone before reading one of his displays some odd months later and realizing it! It really is something else to find those old ones that meant something in a family. I have to agree though, there's more traffic in these other forums that somebody is probably more likely to recognize it here.

Probably the only folks posting on your new forum would be those looking for a lost family tractor. Don't see many having success with that small audience.

Very few would read it. Just look at how slow the Tractor Memorabilia forum moves. Your sugestion would be far less frequented than that forum

Do you know the serial number or what year the G is that you are looking for? I bought one that I was told came from north or South Carolina
years ago.

Yea it may not move quite as fast as others, but some of these other forums move like a herd of turtles. Just cause it doesnt have 23 posts per hour doesnt mean it couldnt be just as interesting. You never know...I just thought it would be interesting for people to have a specific place for that. I have some tractors that are not green, but i dont usually go to those forums, they are just tractors that i couldnt see let going to scrap. So if oliver, or case guys were posting in that forum i would probably miss it. I do try to poke around the other ones to see if something looks interesting, most times i have nothing to add. Eh, just a thought.

Buckeye, i would have to do some digging on the serial number but i think it was a 51 or 52. I think it was originally shipped to atchison or everest ks, sold through the want ads of T/C magazine to a guy im thinking in north carolina. This one would be the last family tractor to try and find. My email is open to if that helps haha

I have five tractors that I do not know the history of. If I knew someone was looking for a family tractor that matched one of them I'd be willing to work out a trade. I have two family tractors and there's no amount of money that could buy them from me, so I understand.
