I've been wondering how to go about measuring tire chains, or if anyone would know about what dimensions I'm looking for. I'm wanting to find chains for some 15.5 -38's.
I grabbed a tape measure today, and was looking like if I had chains 28"wide, it's about a 24" radius to where the chains would ride. Doing the math for circumference, come it to around 12 1/2 feet. Does that sound right?
I could get a new set shipped to the farm from tirechains.com for about $415.I found a set on Craigslist about a foot shorter for $250 but also an hour away. Not hard to add a few links because we have some of that type of chain around the farm.
