Case 1070 power shift clutch doesnt disengage

my 1070 case starting having problems disengaging the transmission when i push in the clutch. if i push it in and out quickly 5 or 6 times it usually then disengages and i can shift into gear. i heard there is a clutch spool somewhere on this unit that could be the culprit due to sticking and to clean it. can any one tell me where this clutch spool is located? or anything else it could be. it will eventually go into gear if i push in the clutch several times. Last fall it did this for a bit but after doing some cultivating it stopped doing it till plowing snow today.....lots of back and forth clutch work and not noticeable till i had to move a truck and then shift it back into gear. any ideas would be helpful and pictures. Dont have a service manual for it.

You should ask about this on the case forum, lots of real helpful folks there. But you will need to at
least say whether it is an 8spd or power shift.

The cab/platform mounts are probably sagging. You can adjust the linkage from the clutch pedal to the control valve to get you going, but you are probably going to end up chasing the problem as the cab moves.

thanks....thats a very good idea ill give it a try. Would you know off hand if the adjuster is above the floor boards in the cab or under the floor.

I think Rich M has it pegged!!! You need to readjust your clutch linkage and look for broken cab strutts and worn out rubber cab mounts. If you keep running the tractor you will be faced with spending BIG bucks to rebuild the RPS34 tranny. Don't run it and fix those mounting/structural issues now!
