belly mounted brush hog

Is it possible to use a truck transfer case hung off the three point to send PTO forward to drive a belly mounted brush hog? Maybe it was a bad dream - or maybe a FARMSHOW contribution article? If the rotation is wrong why couldn't the blades be flipped? Any ideas or dispersion's welcome. Very sorry but the search tool has failed me on this one.

No reason why it wouldn"t work. Local welder mounts snowblowers on the front of large tractors, using a chain drive from the pto. Drops down or to the side, then goes forward. I bought a skidloader mounted brush hog last year- they make some models that are reversible, with double-edged knives. Use in one direction for rough cutting, save the other side for finish cut. Your gearbox shouldn"t care which way it turns.

I have a 6'6" front mount snow blower that is driven off a rear-mount PTO and drive shaft.
Its two right angle gear drives.
The belly mower for the tractor 72" is driven off a right angle drive and a belt on a large 15"+/- diameter pulley
