Sometimes when we would go grocery shopping, some short woman would come up and ask my wife: "Do you mind if I borrow your husband to get something off the top shelf for me?" They never bothered to ask me.

Which brings up a pet peeve of mine.

Why do stores that sell men's clothing, all the way from Walmart to Sears, Penney's, Men's Wearhouse, etc., ALWAYS put the smallest sizes on the very top shelves and the big and tall sizes on the bottom shelves next to the floor? Seems to me it should be the other way around. I'm 6'2" tall and I get tired of kneeling down like I'm praising Allah, trying to find my size on a bottom shelf.

I've asked numerous clerks in various stores "why" and the only reply I can get is that's the way they've always done it.

Goose, I have noticed that also, I am 6'2" also. Have also had it pointed out to me, "You're tall, can you get that off the top shelf for me?" Never could understand why it had to pointed out by a short person. I have never said "You are short, let me get that for you." Funny

That would work great for us old people that can't bend over very far. Hate it when the things that I want are on the bottom shelf.

Amen, brother. I have asked the same thing to clerks: "Don't you think a young man with a 34 inch waist would be better able to kneel down at the bottom shelf than an old man with a 46 inch waist?"

Love your funnies, they are part of my daily routine

Told this one to Mrs. Kinda hits home. I am 6'4 and she is 5'2.

Also have to agree with the comments about stores and their arrangements.

When someone ask me if I can reach something. I put my hand on it and say, yes can you?LOL... I just like to see the expression on their fase or hear their reply. I do offer to reach something for a person having a hard time...MTP
