Grain truck parts

One of my old trucks needs a fuel pump or kit. It's a 74 Ford with the 330 V8 in it. The truck only has 20,300 miles, so the pump isn't worn out. It's just from sitting. Napa says a kit is NLA and a pump is $190. I got a pump for my 58 GMC for about $40 from Jim Carter. They only specialize in old Chevy, though.

Anyone know of someone that does old Ford parts like a Jim Carter?

If nothing else just get a universal electric in line pump and install it. you can make or buy a block off plate to remove the old one from the engine.

Check out LMC Truck,or Rock Auto. I second the electric punp idea.I've replaced the old manual pumps on my JD x5 combines with ecectric, and made a block of plate.

try rockauto, use a 74 f350 as model, I believe 330-360-390 all used the same pump, the ford part # is listed if you check the more info link, about $20.00if # checks out. hope this helps. leroy

Isn't a 330 in the same family as 352, 360, 390, etc? The engines with the intake that extended under the valve covers, weighed 100 lbs!

If so, there should be plenty of fuel pumps for them. If it will mount to the engine, the arm is the same, may have to do some replumbing, but should work.

If NAPA or maybe an old school auto supply is around, they may have picture books to go through.

Just my personal quirk, but I hate electric pumps! Seen to many fail, leak, flood and burn!

I believe a 330 is similar to the 352, 360 and 390, except it is a FT engine so its the 330, 361 and 391 (among several others) family. I believe they do use the same fuel pump though.

Oh Lordy no. I did that on the 58 GMC. By the time harvest was over the electric pump were only lasting 3 days (this was the best quality one at O'Reillys - made in USA!). After being stranded at the pit at the elevator I'm not touching an electric with a 10 foot pole.

I did put an electric on my old pickup but I bought a $150 one that racers use. It has held up great but at that price I may as well keep the old truck stock.

robinson ford truck parts in fredrickstown , ohio might be able to help. I don't have the number right off google should turn it up though.

The 330-428 were all of the F E engine family , there were some differences on the 331-391 HD engines . I just did a quick check for ya but i found no listing on O Riley's compert parts , SOOOO i called the store i deal at and gave them something to look up in there BOOKS . I have come up with parts for I H trucks by usen the books thru them , may not have it in a store close but can usually have it the next day . Store Mgn. was swampped and said he would call me back . So when i hear from him i will see what we can come up with and i will give you a part # and you can order it thru the closest to you .

and oh the difference on fuel pumps for the F E engines are that a med . duty truck has the fuel filter on the pump where as the ones on a car or pick up has the fuel filter on the carb or close to the carb. SOOOOO if push comes to shove get one for ANY FE BLOCK engine from any year on up thru 1976 . Some times i need to rattle the cobwebs as to what will work on a old ford .

Ok heres a part # for you pump , it is M 200038 and it is going to really break your bank account , Now my cost and your maybe different but mine is 24 bucks

Surplus center has the Facut fuel pumps they are supposed to be the best low pressure pump on the market. They are 40-50 bucks. Big Bob

I had a 1968 and 1969 IH Loadstar 2 ton trucks both with electric fuel pumps...I owned them for 13 years and never had any fuel pump problems...
