Allan In NE,
I recently had to show my SIL and daughter how to hang drywall. They bought a one owner house built in 1970. Owner built the house himself. He wasn't nearly as good as you finishing drywall. They had to re-finish most of it. One room we had to hang 1/4 inch drywall over his work. Turned out great.

The kitchen we moved cabinets, filled in a wall and had a lot of fun. It was a good learning experience for both kids.

As for me, Dr told me in 2004 either get spinal fusion or give up somethings. I hired someone to drywall my last two houses. The only nerve that got pinched was the wallet nerve. Hurt a little paying someone to do something I can do.

Have fun with the drywall dust. Keep it out of your lungs.

I'm not Allen, but I love working with PEX. I've used both Sharkbite fittings and crimp-ons. Never had a problem with Sharkbite, but recently when we moved the shower in our master bath and planned a closet where the old shower was, I went with crimp-ons to plug the lines going to the old shower.

There is too much insulation to get at the lines from below, so I cut the PEX lines about 6" above the floor inside the wall and used crimp-on plugs 'cause after I put a sheet of drywall over the area, the stubs will never be seen again. I've never had a problem with Sharkbites, but under those circumstances I felt a bit more comfortable with crimps.

BTW, our local Oerscheln's farm store had the crimp tool priced at $69. I bought the identical tool on Amazon for $29.

Thanks Allan,

Always appreciate an update. If you have weather there like we have here, it is a good day to be inside painting. -17 F at 8 AM today.

Serious looking water heater, Allan. I guess you have heat on in the house so there won't be any work interruptions. Just think, winter's about half over, at least that's the case here.

I see you already have all of your furniture in the room shown by the picture above. On a more serious note, I hope you are able to furnish the home inexpensively when the time comes. By the way, thanks for the updates.
