I went to the library last week and took out a book,I started to read it,The title is Pig Tales,,it says it is a window into the world of pig farming. I thought it might be interesting to see if any of the towns mentioned are near some of you on the site. Here is a list of some of the places mentioned,///It mentioned these places in stories of feral pigs,,Aiken South Carolina,,OvertonTexas,,Tyler texas,,Junction Texas ,////, Hog farms were mentioned in Carrol Iowa,,Northern Missouri,by the coon creek bridge...Milan a town in Northern Missouri,,,Wallace....a town in eastern North Carolina,, It mentioned the Neuse river in North Carolina..and a farm northest of Albany NY on the banks of the Battenkill River. i just thought it might be interesting if some of you lived near these places mentioned.

Yes, the Battenkill is nearby actually. Quackenkill, Poestenkill, Wynanskill, Little Hoosick, SweetMilk creek, are some of the local steams or creeks.

The area that the Battenkill goes through north of here is all old farms, like it was here, 'cept its not changed much, I always thought it was a nice area.

I used to live in SC. Yes, a lot of hogs. When I was there it was open season year long, no permit, no license, no tags, any
method, just get rid of them.

We have a problem with them here in CA (Crazy America). CA is not as sharp as other states in getting rid of these things.

Google pig or hog helicopter and you will get some pretty neat videos of people hunting hogs from helicopters. One of the
outfits is called Pork Choppers. Nearly all these hunts donate the meat to the needy. They cumulatively have fed thousands.

While on the subject of helicopters, here's a friend of mine setting a flag pole with a helicopter on Market St. in downtown SF.

To drive through would be any of the mountain states, but I-24 over monteagle is one of my faves. If I was going to move to another state I think Oklahoma would be it for me taking everything into acount. The truth is I like everywhere to drive through, altho a few places not as often as others. For me anywhere I haven't been, or a road I haven't traveled is a good trip. Just today I pulled up my google travel history and so here is the pic of where I've been in the last 6 months.

I am roughly an hour an a half north and west of Carroll Iowa. Used to have an uncle there, until he moved east to Glidden. Passed away in 1978 I think.

That's a lot of places. Looked pretty good till I saw all those Chicago stops and then the two in Detroit.......Hmmmmm
