RFD channel going away

Verizon announced that it's no longer carrying the RFD channel in my area.

Great.

The ONE channel I enjoy.

Out of 2000 channels of pure )#(*$)# - they need THIS space for some new programming.

I can't wait to see what's so wonderful that's going to replace it, kadashian reruns maybe? Cupcake baking contests? We could use more of those.

Unreal.

it is sad. I enjoy several shows in RFD. The channel will never survive. There just is not enough rural people anymore. We don't count!

Too bad i watched it when dish carried it. They had sone good shows,I liked the ones about the old iron sadly itll be more garbage tv catlyn jenner,or some other mutant bleck !

We had direct tv and I did like watching some of the shows on rfd.
We then switched to Armstrong cable as they ran a line in our area but I would have to upgrade to some more add on to get it.

How about Mr. T moves in with the kardashians and they live on a private island and race yachts all day.

"I pity the fool who don't watch my show!!!"

Verizon is the only one dropping it as far as I know. Several times a day it comes across the crawl at the bottom of the screen to send letters of protest to RFD headquarters and they will deliver all of them at once to Verizon and the FCC.

I thought it was just the other way, enough people want to watch it so they think, what the heck, maybe be can squeeze a few more bucks out of those folks if they want to watch it bad enough!!Me, I've still got an antenna in the attic and have never had cable or dish!!

I would tell them to void your contract. That is what I did when they took other programs out and wanted more money to bring them back. Call up & whine they can flex if they want to.

well I may go back to an antenna!

I watch the news - and the rfd channel. And for that I pay WAAAAAAAAY too much every month.

And they just chopped half my programming.

RFD and their other channel, Family TV maybe?, are on Dish. Honestly, RFD is losing me. Other than Rural Heritage and maybe Ag Phd theres just not a lot on there. They need to put some more farm and back to the land type shows on. I suppose some people actually want to watch a polka show or tractor pull but it's not for me. If they'd start running some of the older tractor films from JD, Case, AC, MF, Oliver, etc or some of the older USDA farm films I think more people would watch.

It's the abundant's war against rural America. They won't rest until we don't exist anymore!! They own the media. It must kill them when they think of someone enjoying Hee Haw. Probably have nightmares of the 'Where, where, are you Tonight' song ... 'you met another and pffffft you were gone'. lol

I agree there's not a lot on the channel for me either - rural heritage and classic tractor, but - that's two shows more than the rest of
cable has that interests me.

They're not smart enough to figure out that without the folks in rural areas, They are not gonna' have much to eat.

tall kid and i used to watch it all the time when they had world of outlaws sprint cars on dirt you didn't waste sunday afternoon watching those guys drive 500 miles going round and round it's good for nap time

I hate it for those that enjoyed the channel. I quit watching it a while back. It seemed like every time I looked all they had was horse shows. For my way of thinking that has little to do with agriculture other than a few azz holes looking to get something for nothing.

If you don't like Verizon's choice to drop RFDTV, call them and complain. It only takes a short time to call DISH Network and schedual a hookup, and tell Verizon to stick it.
As Brett said, I don't watch RVDTV as much anymore either. Way TOO much horsey stuff, and I'm REALLY tired of Molly B. and Jimmy Sturr, even though he got his start here locally. I do tune into the Rural Evening News every night. Very informative about all things relating to American Agriculture. ( current weather, to new Gov. regs, to market trends). Texas Country Reporter and Small Town-Big Deal are good shows also. Meecum Auctions and Classic Tractor Feaver are all reruns of reruns, along with the Sucessfull Farming show.

We have verizon and have found them to be a pizzer of a company. Always trying to raise the rate, and taking away channels. They told me I had a "prefered customer discount" this went on for a while, then all of a sudden I wasn't a prefered customer anymore, no more discount. I always pay in full before the due date. I am a good customer, but they are always advertizing a rate for new customers that is lower than mine. Technically they service is good we have phone, internet, and TV, and it works good, but as I said as a company they suck.

The same crap with Comcast last year, I believe. Don't know if Comcast retained them or dropped them. I like the Larry Black shows, Ag PHD, Tractor pulling, the Trains and Locomotives, and toy train stuff, classic tractor and auctions. Like "Texas Country Reporter" and those type of shows occasionally. Don't pay a lot of attention to the horsey stuff or the rodeos. Tune in on a cattle auction occasionally. Tune in on Orien and Max occasionally also.

I have antenna and about all that is there is shootum up bang bang. No wonder we have so many killings.
