A three pt hitch with a cycle bar mower

A few years 3-4, Antique power had an article about the farm jeeps. They featured one collector who had three along with some implements, but no sickle bar mower.

I find it interesting that the 4 wheelers and now all the UTV's they are making are as large as or even larger than the good ole Jeep !
Jeep should just bring back the old model.

Land Rover followed the same path in the early days. No surprise since the LR started out to fill the gap in the UK once the surplus Jeeps ran/wore out. My '55 has a central pulley used to drive a crop sprayer. Early LR option was a grass shield to keep the drive shafts clear when raking and baling.

Great pics Larry. I spent a few days in that arena a year ago Oct at the KYLE at the Draft Horse Show. It brings back memories. Thanks again - Bob

Some do or did. GMC manual tranny on 1 ton had a side shaft PTO that could be used with a shaft out side for elevator work or for power to chain drag for gravel dump on another box. Ford and IHC had a PTO option for winch use or some other power need with power taken off side of tranny, another option for PTO bent right angle from side for use in front or back- winch or snow blower, gravel spreader or some kind of pump, rather large pickup, had duallies on back but still 8 foot base box, standard large cab even if was state DOT truck. RN.

I had a CJ2A that had the belt pulley on the back but didn't have the 3 point
they were sold as a tractor sort of after WWII
so it was actully my first tractor but was not how I looked at it
I bought it for a cottage property to get around on move wood and plow snow
but it spent most of it's time just bombing around on
wasn't nearly that nice but only cost me about 500 back about 1985
sold it a few yrs later to the local kid for 1500 so not to bad of a deal for me as all it ever cost me
was gas
was actully thinking about it about a week ago as one was offered to me but he wants to much and would
need a complete redo
thanks for the memories Larry
