MH44 EFI Update Pictures

The new starter gear reduction starter came today. It is a lot smaller diameter, but has a solenoid on it. I will need to relocate the oil filter up about an inch or will have to remove starter to change oil,
no oil in filter right now so will move it.

I copied a left and right picture.

Note, I have not mounted the PS pump yet.

Nice clean looking unit, you should be able to find a shorter filter I would think.

David being a life long mechanic and owner of several massey 44s I certainly admire your workmanship. Who worked out what starter to order. We always just went with one off of a 55 when we build the high compression 44 engines. Looks like you solution would have been better. Some day I want to see the dyno final results. We build some pretty strong engines ou of those 44s.

That's what I was thinking. Shorter filter. Good luck trying to find someone at parts house who will work with you on matching up a filter.

ManI just know a turbo off an old 2.2 chrysler would look sweet on there along with port injection off one .

That is a NAPA 1050, any ideas?

It looks like the filter could be re-located easily..and Yes it is looking good...

It looks to me a 1051 would be a shorter replacement.

What do you think?

While a shorter filter would be easier to access, you would need a custom funnel or catch basin to remove it and catch the oil. HTH

Old bread bag works fine as a catch basin.

NAPA 1050, 1051, 1320, 1704 all will work with that base.
