What did you all have for supper?
Baked pork chop, fried carrots, raspberry yogurt, glass of milk and a caramel candy to finish it off.

Grilled beef liver and onions, mashed potatoes and English peas. I have had a craving for liver for about a week. Now it may be months before I want more. But it was pretty good. Tommy

Porterhouse steak, roughly 6 inches around cooked on grill. Baked potato about the size of a football full of butter/sour cream. Baked beans. Dinner rolls.

we had lasagna and a glass of wine .... it is 3 degrees outside right { 7:20 } now with a strong north wind ... Central Iowa ....

I;m really for SPRING ................ , mark

my wife made home made pizza , and dessert was blonde brownies with caramel drizzle on them ,YUM , then today three close friends and I made 160 lbs of venison sausage . it was a good project when it is -5 outside right now in central minn

Gosh darn-it, not to get all mushy but aren't we all lucky? Plenty of good food on the table, warm house to sleep in and good friends on this forum to visit with.

Soup beans with ham good fried taters and corn bread and a glass of milk. Hummm it don't get much better than that. Bandit

Well it's my 65th today but rain drizzle and calling for winter storm so stayed home and had bacon & eggs and little later some of the "farmer fudge" scratch made cocoa/peanut butter fudge that I made today. Recipe handed down from my dear Grandma Kniffen and very hard to make and have it turn out right. Luckily my brother and I have mastered it to continue handing down. No need to even go out when like this. Retired , food , heat and housing...yea after 65 yrs I think we've earned it....and we will enjoy it.

well this evening with these January temps we had a summer time supper . war dept made up some Mac saled baked beans and i went and fired up the grill and did burgers outside in the fridge 48 degrees. Nice part about this is ya did not need a cool can for the barley pop.

Yep, we're lucky in that most haven't experienced a serious life setback through no fault of our own, as some have- but for the most part, we make our own luck, and if you keep puttin' one foot in front of the other and don't just give up, you can even overcome some problems along the way. There are some on here who haven't been dealt a very good hand, but by growing a good garden, doing a lot of canning, freezing, firewood cutting and so on, still seem to be able to provide for the basics and have a decent life.

I grew up on a subsistence dairy farm in the '50's. Mom was a great cook. Grandma and Grandpa came out for Sunday dinner every week, and I remember Grandma raving about how everything on the table was grown on our farm. After they left, Dad said "I've never thought of it that way- I just figgered we eat this way because we can't afford to buy anything."

The ones I feel sorry for are the city folk in apartments who have no chance to provide for themselves unless they can make money, which is very difficult if you're not educated and have not developed a work ethic. I'm not happy with the direction our country has moved, but not much I can do about it other than push my family in the right direction, which I'm happy to say I have done.

Cheated tonight. The wife and myself went out to dinner with a couple friends. we had some spaghetti, and meat balls. Not my favorite, but I have to give in some times. Stan

Try drenching the liver in flour and fry in hot cast iron for no more then 2 minutes pre side. Less if sliced really thin.
