God looks out for ....

Drunks and babies, at least that's the saying I've heard. It seems he also looks out for forgetful people too, and I'm too old to be a baby and don't drink enough to qualify as a drunk. Went to use the M to move some snow and realized there was water in the trans that had frozen solid. I kicked myself for not draining it this fall and proceeded to heat it up to thaw it out. After the heat was on it for a bit I put the 12"crescent wrench on the drain plug and about fell over when I realized that the plug was loose. That's when I noticed there was water dripping out from the threads. When my memory came back I realized that I had loosened it this fall to let the water seep out and must have walked away. Good news is that I didn't lose the plug and run the trans dry and ruin a bearing or gear.

The way I heard the saying is: The Lord protects children, drunkards and idiots.
That gives you a third alternative. LOL

"Your not supposed to tell anybody,,,keep things like that quiet if no none sees it...."

But what if if someone might have seen it and plan talking about it??????? Beating them to the draw is attempted damage control. Hee HEE heee

and i always heard that god watches out for idiots and cripples, and i noticed you don't have a limp.......

I had one of those moments. I chored this morning and left the loader tractor in front of the shed all day. It was about 20 degrees all day. I got in it tonight to move it into the shed and it wouldn't move. I tried reverse, high, low, checked the TA, wondered what the cold had done to the hydraulic clutch, etc. I started thinking of how much this was going to cost me and where that money was coming from. That's when I looked down and noticed it was exactly half way between first and second. Amazing what a tractor will do when you actually choose a gear.

That reminds me - I need to loosen the drain plug on the M. And then tighten it.

Apparently retightening the drain plug is optional. Actually I've learned they don't have to be Arkansas tight. Just snug and they never back out on their own. Not true for the plug in front of an H or M steering worm thrust bearing.

I have heard it as "God looks out for fools and little children." I've been called both and a whole lot more.
