Had our own plough day today

My son Karl and I slipped out and turned a few furrows today. I have had a MF880 5furrow plough for 6-7years now, and it works nice. Last year I was at an auction and bought this 4 furrow MF 880.it had a broken mouldboard , so this fall I put a new one on so we cold go plough together . 9 furrows are not twice as fast as 5 , but close. Things went well till about 4 o'clock , and then the tail wheel broke on my plough. So I had to carry it off the field. I have a friend that is a pro welder , sent him a picture of the brake. Looks like it had very little left holding on today. Weather permitting , should be done tomorrow . Bruce

That's been cracked a awhile, reminds me of the spindle that broke on my 850 ford a few years back, same kind of thing.

Looks like its been cracked half way for a few years. Good thing you had the bale spear on, made for easy transport at least.

Looks like the KUBOTAS were up to the challenge. These parts they would put you in jail if we turned ground like that. We have been forced to no till now for several years. Too wet right now but I do plan on putting the chisel plow on and running a few nights to loosen some fields.
