Sometimes when we used the back side of a Crescent wrench, it mashed the metal enough that we couldn't open the wrench very far until we removed the mashed metal.

Many years ago as a multi-wall bag machine operator trainee, my trainer told me me I only needed two tools. A little crescent wrench and a BIG hammer!
Hahahahaha!

If you use a pipe wrench for a hammer dont stick your thumb under the rear part of the top jaw! Had a friend do that once. Makes me sick thinking about it.

Ah, see Dick, there's where you went wrong. You need to use the neck of the handle, not the rear of the jaw on the handle. Just have to have good aim, hurts if pounding a nail with the handle and hit the fingers holding it.

Got a hammer on every tractor....bout a 4" piece of 2" pipe bolted to the fender to hold the handles.

My crescent wrenches last a lot longer now
