Welder/electrical help needed!

I am trying to use my Miller Bobcat to run a blower motor on a bin with no luck. The motor will spin when turned on but
not like it should. When I plugged it in at home it sounded like a jet engine spinning up, and it really moved some
air, but when I try to run it off the welder it only turns at maybe 1/4 speed. The welder is putting out 240v, and isnt
tripping any breakers when the motor is turned on. Also when the motor is turned on the engine grunts for just a
second, and then recovers. The reason I mention this,is because when burning a 5/32 rod it makes the engine work a
little, and i would think that running a 5hp electric motor should to? Do I have welder trouble, did my start capacitor
crap out, or something else? Any help would be appreciated!

Some have to have your fine adjustment at full amperage in order to get full power to receptacles.

Your manual will tell you what horse motor your welder will handle My miller will only handle 2 hp 3000 watt 240 volt
traper

Miller Bobcat welders are rated at 9500 watts continuous which calculates to about 12 horsepower. So you should have more than enough generator capacity. Take a volt/ohm meter and see what the voltage is doing when you turn on the motor. Some electric motors will not start on portable generators very well. I think the size of the start capacitors makes a difference. Some motors just have barely enough to start with line voltage.

turn the fine tuning adjustment knob to 10, it will give you full 110 power even if you are using two twenty, they are set up that way, put a volt meter in sockets and adjust knob you will see what I am talking about

Maybe making the voltage so hand held grinders and rod ovens work fine . However the engine rpms will have to be redlined to either 1800 with a four pole machine or 3600rpm with a two pole machine . To make 60HZ.
