O.T.-Prayers needed

I never thought I'd be one of the folks on here asking for support from this great bunch of folks. Our son reached a low in depression/over whelmed by events where he was living and tried to slash one of his wrists, realized it wasn't the solution and drove himself to an ER where they stitched him up. It wasn't too bad of a wound, because his car was spotless when we got it, so I think he knew he'd gone the wrong route. He was transferred to a local hospital, then later that day taken to a psychiatric unit. He's getting good help so far and has agreed to meds to help him. I've never felt so lost in my life, my wife and daughter are equally stunned. Keep us in your prayers and I'll update you when I can!! Thanks, guys and y'all have a very Merry Christmas!!

Phil I feel for you and am glad your son is safe now. The sickness of sprit is often harder than a physical injury. My prayers go to you and your family. Try to keep a close watch on him after he is home. Relapse is common.

As JD said, stay very close to him. I am encouraged he is open to meds. It is a journey, but they have come a long way in treating mental health. My prayers are with you.

So sorry to hear this, sad to think that a person can feel so bad that they think the only way out is death. Lots of good advice already from people.

I hope your son gets through this alright. Counseling and medication will help. Make sure he sticks to it.

I hope the best for him, make sure he stays on meds and support him the best you can. It can be tough, the last 18 months have been heck for me with a bitter custody and divorce trial, but iv never thought about checking out. Do you best to encourage and support him, what ever it is that he excels at, be sure to instill to him how good or valueable he is. Best of luck.

What JD said.

Phil I have walked the road you are walking with my son. Makes you feel so helpless. My thoughts and prayers are for your son and your family.

God bless.

Praying for your son, and you and your family. God has a plan but hard for us make sense of it at times. Hope you have as good a Christmas as possible.

Phil, I fully understand, lost a nephew to this. Your son and family will be in my thoughts and prayers
