Battery Charger

On an automotive battery charger what does a flashing red light mean? ICBMs launched? I assume a steady red means charging?

I have two battery charges with indicating lights, Red is charging and green means fully charged. They will sometimes show that even if it has a bad cell. Some batterys you still can check water levels. They have to be kept full for correct charging. Norm

right. Mine has red and green and normal charge is red. What is flashing red?

Mine flashes for reverse polarity , cables backwards?

I would think bad battery/hooked wrong/or set on the wrong voltage... for safty find out before trying to charge it again. It seems like it is trying to get your attention. Good luck and be safe...MTP

I have an old 15 a craftsman. It flashes red when charging and green when finished. The ammeter also indicates how much it's charging.
