Just got my 4500 delivered from my old house in CT to its new home in MI. No rocks here for it to dig.

In the dead center of the MI lower peninsula. When they dug the foundation for my house the only rock they found was the size of my fist. In CT 60% of every bucket full was rock.

I thought it was just as rocky in Remus as it is down here in Sheridan.
Looks like we've got another bundle pitcher at Blanchard next summer if you're that close.

C'mon down, I'll show you buckets 40% rock down here along the river. Couldn't use a post hole auger for my fenceposts, had to dig 40" deep holes with a backhoe for the posts, too many rocks. My in-laws lived in Barryton for a while after retirement until they got bored and moved back to St. Johns. I know a guy with a 4500 like that, real good backhoes.

Man! About 1972 I almost bought a house about a mile west of Remus! It had a natural gas well on the property and the deal included free natural gas . I ended up in Ionia, a little way south, but I liked that area. The Canadian Lakes are not too far and we've vacationed in Barryton, a short way north off M-66. How much land did you end up with? Plus, we have a YT gittogether the third weekend in August at the large old tractor show in Oakley. Oakley is not too far from you, either. But there are at least a coupla guys right near you including rrlund and ray.

Actually no, not a wine rack. Its all the empty whiskey bottles that represent what I had to drink to finish (actually not done yet) this place.

I ended up with about 4.5 acres (unfortunately mostly grass) but the main perk is that it borders a runway that I am part owner of. Hope to be able to fly as long as my health holds out.

Welcome to Michigan Jeff. I'm just North of Ionia.
Hope to see you at Oakley and/or Blanchard.
Might be nice not to be the only Ford owner there! LOL
Nice looking rig.

Welcome to Isabella county, Jeff! I am about 10 miles north of you. Will have to look you up someday soon. I got some rocks for ya! John

shop almost looks big enough for most of us. They fill up fast. Welcome to the neighborhood. I lived in Blanchard 18 years. Got married and moved to Rosebush. Still got to the dentist in Blanchard and always get my brats from fates market in Remus. Im not sure about the rock population being smaller here I think they just all roll down to the bottom of all the blasted hills. LOL

Welcome to the neighborhood. I'm in Montcalm county about 6 miles out of Blanchard. Supply the oats for threshing demo at the Blanchard Steam show. And yes there's lots of rocks around here. Just check out any potato field shortly after harvest.

Does this mean a change in username to JF in MI? I'm just about as far South and West as can be and still be a fellow Michigander. Look toward South Bend, can you see me waving?

Here is a pic of some of the guys from MI. that were at the Oakley show last Aug. From L to R, Royce, Johnlobb, Jack Wondergem, rboots and Crooked rows. Some of the other guys that are usually there came on another day or had some other conflicts.

So are those metal panels built with an insulation sandwich like an insulated garage door ?
If not I do not see a vapor barrier and it will rain inside of there during certain weather. At least a bare metal one in Ohio will.

Welcome to middle of the mitten! I'm just over a few miles east of Mt. Pleasant. Do you fly for hobby or do you do some business that way too? I live on a 1/2 square mile dome of 20' of pure sand/woods. No rocks,no water laying they don't even require a drive way culvert. Nice but, forget about a yard or garden. Hope you enjoy the area. RB

He'd better know what he's getting in to. By his own admission, that picture was taken 5 or 6 miles from his house. We're the locals, plain as that. lol

I was toying with the idea of insulating but figured I'd try it as is first. I have a big exhaust fan that removes the heat in summer and ceiling fans that bring it down (when the sun is out) from the roof in colder weather. I'm liking that system more and more. Haven't had any moisture in there in the last 5 years it was built. Can't afford to heat it. Foundation walls are insulated.
