Thank you goose for replying to my message. YES the carburetor has been off. Could you please tell me how to get the throttle shaft connected to the throttle butterfly properly. I know there is a tab there, but what position does the throttle butterfly have to be in for it to connect to the throttle shaft. Thanks for any help,

There is a 'square' notch.A fork in the throttle shaft. I usually set the throttle handle at slow/idle speed. You just have to hold your mouth right....It helps to connect the throttle shaft to governor shaft and lift carb onto the manifold.It can be tricky.Good luck! I assume you are talking about a Farmall H/M,etc.?
