Ford 2000 serial # issue

I recently bought a Ford 2000 tractor that is in need of a steering box rebuild as well as a few other misc. items but I am having a real issue trying to figure out the year and so on ~ I have scanned and scraped and copied every number from the entire machine and scoured every forum that I could find but nothing seems to match up so I'm hoping someone here can help ~
The numbers located on the flywheel housing behind the starter read as follows
6L25
A144-897
I've got the trans numbers, rear end numbers, motor numbers, and the numbers posted above and I just can't seem to figure it out. Any help?

Lets start with questions. 3 cylinder or 4 cylinder engine? Gas or Diesel? No of speeds in transmission, 4, 5, 6, 8 ot 10 speed being a SOS tractor. Live PTO or transmission driven PTO? Row crop configuration or wide front end. Two different distank models first up to 1964 and second from 1965 up. Some of those options were not offered in all model years. So this information will narrow down the model quite a bit and then withfurther questions can come close to year. Now this if tractor has not been repainted, all blue body is 65 up, gray hood blue castings 64 down.

From whats posted sounds like 3 cyl Antwerp unit. As low ser # its proably a 1965 year.

Look on the top of the transmission - just
above and behind the starter.
There will be some lines of numbers and letters
stamped into the casting.
You may have to scrape off some crud or paint
to see them. Then post them on the Ford board
at the link below. Someone there will help you
decipher them.
When you ask about your 2000 ALWAYS mention
whether it is a 4 cylinder or 3 cylinder model.
