I posted a couple of days ago about the 2500 gmc losing brakes and steering. Lots of folks said power steering pump shaft break. I went and bought one and took it apart today. Sure enough, when the belt was off the pulley and part of the shaft came right out. Getting the new pulley pressed on in place wasn't easy and it's kind of a tight fit. I invented several new words and wasted a good portion of the day. I'll be danged if I'm taking it to a shop, though.

Got it done and she's good to go. I think I'll replace the rocker panels AGAIN this winter and make her purdy again. She deserves it I guess.

If you had the puller and installer you could have changed the pulley in a couple minutes and had the star on the silo and still had time for a nap.

Nap? I don't know of such a thing!!!

PS - that star is still in the loft of the machine shed. If I can't muster the energy on Friday you all might win out.

It is not us winning, it is you by not getting injured or killed.

The star is just not worth it.
