the chinese tractor looks good, would be handy with the little 3 pt tiller I already have,,but ,I Did e mail red river parts and several others too for filters,,no response yet,,,and I Did find an oil filter from baldwin,,they are available, but cant find the cartridge type hyd. filter. My brother and nephew said they need filters because there is a lot of crud from the factory, they are brand new but some kind of cosmoline stuff is coating the inside, and the oil needs to be changed. If its this hard to find filters Im pretty sure I Dont need to get invovled with the chinese tractors.??

they are not rusty,,,,yet,,,lol

There's a Chinese tractor discussion board- its heartbreaking to read some of the stuff- "I only had 1 1/2 hours on the tractor, I hit a bump and it broke in half, and dealer won't return my calls", etc. Just say no. Someday they'll build good tractors, but not just yet.

That is a good place for them, collecting leaves and rust.
I would take the tires off, in case I need those.

Well, they look pretty enough, but if you are going to have problems with parts, I suspect that one of them might leave you in a bad way in the middle of a field. My vote would be to hold off at least until you can establish some parts availability. After all, if you cannot get something as basic as a filter, what about other parts that might fail? Engine gaskets, steering parts, transmission parts, and other things that the tractor will eventually need.

Besides, you already have a VERY nice Ford that will do anything that you need it to, don't you????

I Do,but the attraction was to run the tiller,it is narrow and has a real slow ist gear, perfect for tillers,,my tractor is wider than the tiller I have so there is a tire mark each pass,a new or even used wide tiller is more than he offerd to sell me the tractor,so It really sparked my interest,Ialso thought it would be handy with the one row 3 pt cultivator I Have

Think of all the crap tools you have gotten from there and then make a decision.

I have friends who occasionally warn me about the coming Chinese invasion. I always counter with, sure, but they have to do it with stuff made in China repaired with Chinese tools. Fat chance.

Tractorbynet.com has a pretty active Chinese tractor forum.

Every place around here that has tried to sell Chinese tractors has dropped them like a hot rock. So they are even messing over the dealers. What are they going to do to a buyer. I know no one who has purchased one that has been satisfied and most have had nothing but problems from day one. Yanmar and Kubota both offer smaller MFWA tractors. Yea they cost more but the last.

Another thought is you can buy a good used Yanmar or other proven compact to run the tiller for probably about the same as the new Chinese tractor and I'm betting the used Yanmar will be running long after the Chinese one goes to scrap.

"Do Not" get involved with a Chinese tractor....even if it's free...no parts, no quality,,,no good.

well i got one for a bill that was not paid 250.00 and it was the best deal i ever made it has been good for what i do with it 5 ft bush hog handy NO, oil leaks yes, nice HEL- no, gets the job done ya would i pay more for one no.

It is still a bit risky. Kind of like Harbor Freight. Some of their stuff is of decent quality while some is also of very poor quality. Try to consider what you will do if the tractor breaks in half in the middle of your tilling this spring - or maybe breaks a tooth off of a gear or snaps the PTO shaft. Where will you get the parts? Or, even just needs a filter or some other maintenance thing that you cannot get parts for?

If there is any significant amount of money involved, I would go with what the other folks are saying: put the money towards a Yanmar or Kubota or some other better known brand with parts and service available. A used tractor with parts availability trumps a new one that you cannot get parts for.

Next door neighbor bought a Chinese with frt wheel assist. First time he was using it , taking it easy . a frt wheel drive unit fell off.
He asked me to help get his " cheapy" on the dealers truck. I felt good using my 47 year old American made tractor and loader helping him. clint

What are they asking for these tractors and where are they at? If the price is right look at them as you would a lawn mower from a big box store. In regards to the transmission filter are you sure it even has one or is it just a screen? If it is priced right and last a few years.....

I worked on my sons china scooter a while back-cheap cheap cheap. The 9 hp engine does not even hold a quart of oil.
