Inside dual blew out . BLAM!!!!! Got my attention for sure.

Both duals on one side of a combine trailer blew out on us on hwy30 in Idaho making a huge bang and dropping that side of the trailer on the road. A car was tailgating the trailer and after the truck and trailer got stopped the taigating car stopped behind it and the driver got out shaking like a leaf. When he asked the trucker if he was OK his voice was shaking. I wonder if he ever tailgated after that. LOL

Anyone have an answer for this? (I don't)

"Why is it that it is always the inside dual that goes bad?"

Cause the fellar that sells the trucks puts the worser tire on the inside where you can't see it so well!

Actually, I wouldn't know. The tires on mine are good all around, inside and out. I had the brakes and tires looked over real good before I hauled anything...just to be safe.

Had a brand new Mercedes convertible hangin along side one day when one let go. The tread flopped over the side of the car and onto the real leather rear seat and tore the side of the car and part of the rear seat mostly off. He was a bit put out by the whole affair.

I blew out a front tire on my 1650 a couple weeks back. Loud for sure but I'm pretty sure the gal in the Tahoe behind me needed to go home and clean up her shorts. She was shaking when she pulled along side me and asked if I was alright.

ecause the inside tire carries the whole load when the driver gets close to edge of pavement in a turn or otherwise.

Precisely why I avoid hanging out next to or behind a semi any longer than I have to.

Dick 2 not always the inside tire but about 65% inside to 45% outside. We kept track of the guys coming into the tire shop 1 year and I think these figures are close for the right side tandems. The left side was more like 50% to50%. I always liked to do truck tires with the exception of garbage trucks in July and August.

Around here the local roads are crowned so much it's ridiculous. I guess the good part is two trucks could be meeting, and nearly rubbing their fenders, and yet their mirrors would miss!
