I have the repair book for the tractor, but left it at home. Checking the intake and exhaust valve clearance on a Deere 2840. Any one know the intake and exhaust clearance. Is that warm or cold???? I see that this vintage of John Deere is a little different than my Farmall's and older Deere's. There is no jam nut on the adjusting screw/bolt. Are the threads sort of self locking so they don't move out of adjustment?? Looks to me like you just force the adjusting screw/bolt with the wrench??? Thanks.
