It seems my "not so old JD CS40LE chainsaw" has no parts support from JD. I need the stud that attaches bar onto housing part number PS03708.
Thanks,Jim

I think that's an Efco 940. See if this is your saw, If so, you should be able to find parts pretty easy. The stud should be this one-http://www.lawnmowerpros.com/detail.asp?id=50050052R

I have a Deere CS62, took it to the dealer I bought it from and asked to have the carb rebuilt..asking them to check it out and get back to me with the estimate. They gave
me an estimate of 270 bucks..seems that Deere doesn't carry the carb rebuild kits but had a replacement carb. The small equipment service manager took me aside and
told me Deere was dropping the parts support for this and other Deere equipment ..like my weed wacker. I located the parts I need at an Efco dealer..as it is an Efco saw...
a winter time project.

Just walk into a couple of saw repair joints. They should be able to fix ya up. Standard or metric a lot of those studs drive out and into the oiler tank. Most likely you will need to pull the whole front of the saw off to fix it. If not then send it down the river.

doing some research got 3 different answers for that saw a company in Italy echo an Koritz so thats what i came up with hope that
helps you in the future
