2640 JD HYDRAULIC QUESTION

I am adding a 146 JD loader to my 2640 John Deere. Should the hydraulic control valve I am adding to the loader be open center circuit or closed center?

According to Tractordata it has a closed center system.

Definitely closed center. You also need to route return oil to a hyd ported filter cover.

If you go to the JD section of this site . A quick search will find dozens of posts on this topic . And the importantance of correctly connecting the hydraulics . If you plan on using the pair of SCV's at the back, you are doing it wrong. The front pump will be starved for oil.

Thanks for the information. I am not using the rear remotes and I am adding the line back to the filter. I wasn't sure about the type of control valve (open or closed)to use. I just searched the JD section and you were right. Found what I needed! Thanks
