What is an 0.35 of acrer?

As I am working aroound my house geting it ready to put up for sale I wonder what is really an 0.35 lot. Never asked this crazy question but for some strange reason my property looks bigger than that.So this last weekend i measure my property lines and this is what i got. the lot in front is 74 feet wide. all the way down to 195 feet long. Than the lot changes to a wider lot space which is 109 feet, 8 inches. long is 21 feet giving me a toatl of the lenght of the lot 216 feet and 4 inches. Leaveing the front with a 5 foot and 4 inches that the city owns(which I did count as mine).Now the question is what is really the measurements for a 0.35 of an acre? Do you think I am bigger than that? What did you see in this that I have not seen or shall I ask what have you figure out that might help me. Let me know. Yes I am stupid I do not know what a acre figures out on the measurements. The realitors in my town do not even know (they can not tell me what it is nore do they want to).Thanks Brent

The house next to me is on a.33 acre lot according to the owner. That is almost 1/3 of a modern acre which has been scaled back to 200'x400'.

Brent, your lot is a total of 16,735.8 square feet. An acre is 43,560 square feet, so your lot is 0.3842 acres.
If you knock off the front 5 feet 4 inches, you get down to 0.375 acres.

working further with your measurements
74'x195= 14430 sq ft
21'4"x109'8" = 2339.26 sq ft
total sq ft 16769.2611 sq ft .38 acre

keep in mind that surveyors measure things out from a perfect horizontal plane. so one acre on a hillside is actually more surface area than on flat ground. if you were to walk around on that hillside acre you would have much more surface area than 1 acre. sort of like if you look at sat images you are looking at a flat area from straight above with no perspective of the up's and downs. sounds like your measurments are right on the money since nothing is perfectly flat and you are coming up with a little more surface area than your deeded acreage.

I guess I don't understand. An acre is 43,560 square feet. If his lot is 200X400 then he has 80,000 square feet. He actually has 1.84 acres.

He I would like to thankyou to all of you who took the time to figure this out for me. I did not know who to trust with this question because they are wanting my property. If figure if I asked it here that some body could answer and you did. Thank you so much for takeing the time to figure this out.

Go down to the City Hall and take a look a the City plat map. It'll show you the original official plat, if one, and may show you the first original official subdivision, and what the original official measurements were and are. The City street will be adjacent to that, and Ciiity property USUALLY will come up 15 feet or so, from the curb towards your house. If there's a sidewalk, USUALLY your actual official property line will be one foot inside the sidewalk. The sidewalk will be on City property. Somebody at the City Hall can 'splain it better than I.
