Has anyone ever overhaul a 1966 chev 2 ton model hydrovac braking sys, Brakes not working going to bleed braking sys and start from there also where would I get overhaul kit

I don't think you will find an OH kit for a hydrovac anymore, but you should be able to get a an exchange re-man. Of ten, there's a stamped metal tag hanging from a bolt that can be used to ID it.

I have a 66 C60. I have one coming I got on Ebay. During my research I also found Oriellys has access to a rebuild service. Oreilly's parts look up doesn't go back to 1966 so have them look a 1980. I'd have went with Oreilly, but didn't want the down time. My brakes work but have to really stand on the pedal to stop. Fortunately I drive it slow.

I was losing brake fluid om my 54 chevy 6400, and couldn't find any leak. I found the brake fluid was being sucked into my Hydrovac. I found a rebuilt unit. There isn't much to them if you could find a rebuild kit. Your best source will be to find a rebuilt one. Did you check ebay? I am sure they used the same unit a lot of years. Stan

I doubt you will find a kit. Most are rusty and pitted internally so they will need to be rebored/sleeved. Napa or most parts stores can get them for you, just need the numbers on that little tag.

there is a bleeder screw on top of the hydrovac. It needs to be bled along with the ones on the wheel cylinders. At least on my 1960 2 ton.
