Massey 1080

Im a ih guy and a few miles away a guy has a massey 1080 forsale with
the perkins engine that is tore apart he bought it off a friend who
was injured that needed money! So the engine needs rebuilt are these
perkins tough to rebuild like a d361 farmall or pretty straight
forward any parts not availible! Dont know anything about masseys but
tires and sheet metal look good looks like nice original tractor! Any
info would be great!

Father-in-law had one. He was happy with it. Only got to drive it a few times. Whenever we visited him my son grabbed the 1080, I got whatever was left.

Good engine nice tractor (have one in the shed). Parts are average to find and don't be afraid to use salvage yard parts. Use all new stud bolts on the head as that is the engines weak point. If engine is junk find a Massey 540 combine and swap it in.
