Broken Zerk fittings

I have used a small "Easy out" , drive it in and turn the broken base out , some heat from the "Blue Wrench" will also help , but easy outs will take them out.

Also you can use left hand drill bits. That is if they do not come out with the easy outs. A little heat helps out or some squirrel pee in a can. *NOTE* if the rest of the fittings are screw in type you are covered. Some old equipment has drive fittings. No screw threads. You will need to drill those out and be very careful so as not to make the hole bigger. The new ones will fall out if you mess up.

I have had very good luck with a left hand drill bit. I have only had one that I had to use an easy out on that a left hand bit did not pull out. I am also not talking about the cheap hard ware store easy outs either but a good set of them but they are not cheap

Just be sure they are the threaded type. Most are, but some times you'll find pressed in fittings. They will need to be carefully drilled out.

I had a broken fitting on a hydraulic cylinder. I removed the pin. Used a drill bit slightly smaller th a OD of fitting. The drill bit pushed the broken part to where the pin was.

You need to find one of these handy tools that that were made to install, extract, and rethread greese jerks
